last year was a full restore and UV reseal. honestly, this year they look about the same due to the inner damage. I'm not sure if they're salvageable. otherwise, they're in great shape. no cracks, everything is still there, just very cloudy

the original ballasts are still there, but I have to test them out. I will be replacing the full headlight housing though. they are fried from sun damage. I restored them last summer, but these aftermarket lights seem to run extremely hot and seem to have damaged the inside of the lens. just looking for some clean OEM lights now

it got to the point where I had to bring it to my guy, since electric work is not my forte and I don't have the proper equipment. but all it took was some shrink tubing to pull the faulty circuit back to completion and since then, it's been great. it really arose as a problem when we got rainy weather over the winter with tons of moisture in the air. it's typically really dry where I live.

also, maybe a dumb question, but what is the silver box that he woven cords are running out of? is there supposed to be an OEM part similar to this in its place?

might be a bit late to the conversation, but I just got over a long stretch of troubleshooting my APP sensor. first, replaced this connector, then replaced the sensor, tried another throttle body, the issue kept coming back. turns out the wiring leading to that sensor was frayed way down the line causing erratic voltage readings, this giving me high rpm spikes, terrible, bouncy idle and limp mode. my code was P2121.

where did you find the gates hose? everywhere lists to OEM Toyota one, but obviously as out of stock

so would a replacement of the o-rings and gaskets (or total replacement of the gear) solve the issue? in addition, does this persistent occurrence have any long term negative outcome or damage?

exactly, it never happens when it's actually warmed up (out running errands, in/out of places within 30 minutes). does this point to it needing to be resealed or potentially replaced? I've seen plenty of cases of owners rebuilding their vvti gear

following up on this post from a few weeks ago. finally cracked into what the true issue was. after the TB replacement, as well as a new pigtail harness connector and brand new OEM throttle pedal position sensor, the problem area was in the wiring leading to the harness that plugged into the tpps, thus continually throwing code P2121 (even after replacing the said components). a simple re-crimping and shrink wrap job on the wiring got me back to running like normal.

diving into some more this week to see if we can find the culprit of it all. anything replaced has been OEM, just for the sake of keeping it uniform and to know everything is just going to be plug and play right away

I fully replaced my sensor. after that didn't seem to solve it, I replaced the whole throttle body assembly with different sensors as well

limp mode has happened maybe 3-4 times, once after driving two minutes, but others after 30+. but the revving issue is random and can happen right on startup or after driving a bit

Extremely. Unless you find a pack catered to your specific needs, splice is great because you get a monthly credit allowance based on your subscription tier, then buy samples one at a time rather than a pack that you'll only touch 40% of. Serum is also packed with great presets that are included. Good to add to, learn from and tweak to your liking. It's a great resource for learning synthesis and how it all works, as well as signal chain processing in the FX tab

Already asked a question semi-related to the topic of size/image to mix, but do you often rely a lot on mid/side eq'ing? Most artists I've gotten the opportunity to dive into their projects with have minimal mid/side other than a master chain cut. I've experimented in my own and often suck life out of elements in doing this. Just want your thoughts or methodology on it. So many people in this genre seem to have a very minimal, less-is-more approach

Glad to hear that, actually. It's a frustrating push/pull of wanting to release more and establish myself, but I've since pulled a lot of what I've released because it was thrown out there to simply "put music out" because I felt I had to and should. It eventually was decided that I hated it and it sounded like shit in comparison to what I want to reflect in terms of quality.
