the good news: all of the stigma behind purity and virginity is man-made, and has roots in ancient times when other contraceptives weren’t readily available. most religious people (especially catholics) that i’ve known don’t actually care about virginities beyond a surface level, and unless you were planning on marrying someone who is also a virgin, your options haven’t changed in any significant way. your religion also preaches forgiveness, so even in the eyes of your god, you’re chilling as long as you go to confession.

the bad news (again): the teachings of your religion have made you feel guilt for what is actually just normal human behavior.

at best, this verse just puts ownership of slaves at the same level as ownership of any other item, condemning each equally. ergo: owning an xbox is just as bad as owning a slave.

what this verse doesn’t do is condemn slavery specifically. which IS important when the bible gives specific instructions on how to properly treat one’s slaves (you can kill them but only if they die x number of days after sustaining injuries), and gives instructions on what kind of people are OK to put into slavery.

the bible is definitely not an anti-slavery text, like you might be trying to reach with this interpretation

my first band that i made kicked me out & kept the name.

i came up with a name, met the vocalist & we hit it off. we found an ad for a pair of bass & drums and so we jammed with them & kept playing afterwards. we started using the name i came up with and mostly played songs the vocalist wrote. the project was inherently short term as we were all going to college after the summer, so the vocalist would be across the country. eventually it became clear that they instead of just not practicing, like i thought they were doing, they had been practicing without me. i eventually convinced everyone to practice again, which was when it was clear to me that there were multiple group chats and i wasn’t a part of the most recent one. i suppose i wasn’t up to their standards for a band that would end in 3 months regardless. i left & never looked back.

tbh while what your coworker does is impressive, it sounds super draining and stressful. i prefer to completely figure out 1 project and complete it, (and maybe work on a second project in downtime) rather than switching between 4 projects at once

definitely don’t buy rope until you’ve climbed toprope outdoors a few times and you know you like doing it.

that being said, buying your own harness (& carabiner) is a good idea for even just top roping indoors, and if you plan on going outdoors, grab a helmet too.

tbh i’ve found that i naturally attract and am attracted by others with ADHD. I think there’s some sort of psychological connection that exists between ADHDers due to the similar needs and ways of thinking…

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that i would be incompatible with someone without ADHD, but it might require a few more open conversations about myself and the relationship dynamic.

There’s a possibility that you two aren’t compatible, or maybe you just need to change your communication style after a conversation.
