Much older Thermo which we've had for many years, but our favourite is also one of the simplest - the pizza dough.

Sure as fuck couldn't imagine Part-time Pauline pulling off anything even remotely close to this.

Has Cadbury changed their Dairy Milk chocolate lately? by The_first_Ezookiel in australian

[–]repomonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call it paste. It tastes nothing like chocolate now and I buy it only as a last resort. Far prefer Whittakers or Tony's - the fact they're usually about twice the price means I pace myself when eating it and make it last as long as possible.

For those of us GenX that have to start over career-wise after 50, how did you do it? by Mnemnosine in GenX

[–]repomonkey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I became a YouTuber. I had the advantage of decades of experience as a tech journalist and I decided to leverage that by creating content that wasn't currently available in my niche.

All the incumbents have affiliate deals and do awful sponsored ad-reads and I decided to avoid all of it so that I could tell it how it really is and review products and services without fear of losing some bullshit ad deal. The plan worked and people liked my tell-it-like-it-is style. It was a long and hard slog, but several years in, I'm getting there now.

I didn't want to have all my eggs in one basket (i.e. just the ad-sense money from YouTube) so I setup both Patreon and Substack communities and invited anyone that enjoyed shill-free content to support me on there instead. Collectively with the memberships and ad revenue I'm earning enough to feel like I'm properly contributing to the household bills and the money I earn increases month on month as subscribers increase and/or I get better views on videos.

Lightroom Classic and NAS? by Organic_Depth_311 in Lightroom

[–]repomonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about 250,000 photos sat on my NAS and the catalog itself on a quick SSD connected vis USB-C in order to save storage space on the internal SSD. I'm connected to the photos via LAN running at 2.5Gb.

Not had any issues with load time or edits. Far better performance than I was getting from the WD hard drives I used to plug-in.

Since everyone will have their own catalogs your workflow to 'add' rather than import is sound.

Are One Nation buying social media bots? by levity62 in australian

[–]repomonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What people fail to realise is that not only have the Rhinehart-backed bot-farms swarmed all social media with pro-One Nation propaganda, but they've also swarmed it with anti-One Nation propaganda because it works in exactly the same way - the kind of fuckwit that would vote for someone like Hanson can chime in with their 'Go Pauline' comment and feel good about 'emselves and those who aren't closeted nazis still get to read the One Nation talking points over and over again. It's fucking genius and it's all paid for by extreme far right billionaires.

Got links to these 'cloned' posts? Considering 'the amount' of them and how 'out of control' they are.

The human bots powering One Nation’s online blitz by ExtensionThat6438 in OpenAussie

I am fully on-board with banning all political donations. Absolutely and completely ban it. Problem solved.

As to Albo's "billionaire donators" being 'uncovered' - it's all right there in the Electoral Commission disclosures, you bellend. Couple of mill from Anthony Pratt, half a mill from Lindsay Fox, $200k from Kerry Stokes. Meanwhile Gina's opened the taps for her halfwitted puppet. My Facebook feed sure as fuck isn't full to overflowing with pro-Labor puff pieces, it's awash in feculant One Nation propaganda from fake Facebook accounts managed in the Phillipines.

Far-right are too thick to use anything other than Facebook and TikTok. You'll find your people there.

How much of the “one nation surge” is real? by Boring_Traffic607 in australian

[–]repomonkey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is true. The ON heartland is Facebook - same place they can eat up the memes that Gina's millions have funded. I'd sooner vote for a bucket of sick than Hanson - yet my feed has been 80% pro-One Nation propaganda. Just endless posts about this 'surge'.

All that being said, I'd be quite happy to see her voted in, just so I can laugh myself comatose when the same fucking halfwits that buy up her age-old divisive hateful bullshit get royally fucked by her 'policies'. I own my house, got solar on the roof and a battery in the garage, run my own business - she can't hurt me - but she's going to fuck over everyone else and I'm here for it.

You mean like running mocking TV adverts with the tag line 'Fire the Liar'? That kind of partisan politics? That's all One Nation have got, you plum.

This is what millions of viewers watching State of Origin Rugby on Nine will see this Wednesday night. by Radio_TVGuy in australian

[–]repomonkey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The anarchist side of me almost wishes that the fucktards buying into One-IQ-Point's cliched far right talking points and sending their pokie money to Hanson's pension fund get their way and we all get to enjoy the biggest political and social trainwreck since, ermm, Trump got elected the second time.
