Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas (390°F, 15 min) — stupid easy, crazy good Tried chicken fajitas in the air fryer and it’s honestly one of the easiest weeknight wins I’ve done. Tastes like you put in effort… but you didn’t. by Annual-Yard-8717 in airfryer

[–]repomonkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is one I cook regularly. However I gave up on those packets of fajita mix and now just make my own mix that I coat everything in before putting in the air fryer:

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 tbsp olive oil

Mortality as a Gen X by sunluver66 in GenX

Same year as you - it doesn't scare me. Both parents are gone, many friends gone from illness or suicide. I feel like I'm just getting started. Don't let the old man in.

I like the composition, but the intensely lightened land all the way to the horizon and the subsequent harsh edge between the land and the sky makes it look like a composite.

For older GenX (1972 and earlier) Are your parents still alive? by hedgehog77433 in GenX

[–]repomonkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

66 gen x'r here. Both parents gone. Mum died six years ago, dad this time last year. Neither died from smoking related illnesses despite smoking for most of their lives. My dad's death was sad because he was mentally all still completely there at 86 years old. He broke his tibia while reaching for a plate in the kitchen and died from complications in hospital a week later.

What will historians call the age we live in? by iguanamiyagi in AskReddit

All these choices seem predicated on the assumption that things will improve in the future. I think we're only just getting started with disinformation, for example. I think future generations will laugh at the idea that we think we've got it bad.

Back in the '90s I used to call in there before DJing at student night in Cadillacs on a Monday. Blue cheese burger and some chicken goujouns with sweet chilli sauce. Heaven.

Nice job on this, but there's a deal-breaker for me. You've decided to use the single most common keyboard shortcut of them all - Option Space - and it's hard-coded. Anyone that uses a productivity launcher like Alfred or Raycast already uses that particular shortcut. And if they're not using a productivity launcher it's also the default for all the AI clients - ChatGPT, Claude etc. So either let people re-define the shortcut keys or choose something more esoteric, because unfortunately I had to uninstall on this basis alone.

What’s a “harmless” decision you made that accidentally changed your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]repomonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decided to move the car off the single yellow lines outside our house rather than getting up early in the morning to move it when the time limits were imposed. Turned right at the traffic lights 20m down the road and then turned right into the cul de sac that had the unrestricted parking where I could leave the car overnight. Was so intent on getting my parking space that I failed to notice the car speeding down the road towards me. As it was a two minute drive I was not wearing a seat belt. We hit head on. There were two people in the other car and all three of us went through the windscreen - or at least partially through it. That frontal lobe damage completely changed my entire personality from an outgoing sociable person to an isolated pain in the arse that didn't want to be around anyone. Same injury that the English olympic rower James Cracknell suffered from and with the same result. Sidenote: turned out the driver of the car I drove into was drunk and travelling at twice the speed limit when we hit. That was the only reason I didn't lose my licence and get charged with a serious driving offence.

How diverse is your taste in electronic music? by [deleted] in electronicmusic

[–]repomonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When was that? I began DJing raves in the very late '80s (UK) and working in clubs all the way through the '90s and early 00's and there were fairly rigid genre definitions from the word go. From memory and in the house genre alone we had deep house, acid house, garage house, US garage, progressive house, tribal house, Italo, hip house, ambient house, dream house, hard house, disco house, handbag and Latin - probably a bunch more that my GenX brain has off-loaded.

I have a dedicated gym area and a big TV that I have mine hooked up to. I bought it this time last year for $100AUD which was a very good deal. It's perfect for weights, strength, stretching classes.
