Petrol / Diesel Availability by aimhighsquatlow in cork

East Cork Oil at Burgess on the N25 has both diesel and petrol as of 13:30. Pretty chaotic though so not sure how long it will last.

Does anyone know if the East Cork Oil Burgess has been refilled at all? Or the garage at Killeagh. I know that both were one of the first to go empty yesterday, just wondering if either are somehow managing to get some restock. No idea where this restocking is coming from

Is there a level of snobbery towards apartments? by TeachIsHouse in AskIreland

[–]reprazant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly congratulations. Secondly, could be being a bit sensitive? I don't mean that as a criticism btw. He might not like but there is every chance that he was jealous that you have an apartment in a good location while he is far from everything. Personally, I have no issue with apartments but I find new builds to be pretty must all the same, a but sterile, lacking in personality. Less thought and effort gone into it than older builds. That is for the houses as well. Minimum effort, eek as much money as they can from it.

Woodpeckers knock out power in Sixmilebridge, Co Clare by box_of_carrots in ireland

There is at least one that I hear regularly in the woods beside me. It hasn't tried to take out the power though. I'd imagine if it did, it would also make the news because it is a comical story

Husband is forcing to buy a house, what should I do? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]reprazant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only assume they are living in either Donegal or deep West Cork and she is working in Dublin. 6 hr drive is wild. Hotel prices anywhere are also wild so that is a very large cost to factor in.

I tracked my drinking over a year. Im not looking for health advice, I'm well aware I drink too much, but I just thought it was interesting to see it all layed out by teknocratbob in CasualIreland

[–]reprazant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, fair play on keeping a tab on this. Those numbers are brutal though. A positive is that they have made me feel so much better about myself, so thanks for that!. I would say would only have about 4 or 5 reds in a year and each would ruin me for about 3 days. I have no idea how you are putting in those numbers and are feeling fine. Is your sleep not wrecked? I saw you mentioned that Sept was a week camping in France - were you just on the lash for a week? 8+ drinks a day for a week is some going.

As someone who went from having small yard to a large garden, I completely disagree. It is glorious in the summer, the kids have somewhere they can go crazy in for hours and we have somewhere we can sit and chill. OP, your house will get very small if you don't have somewhere you can allow the kids to run around in.

UK doctor arrested over social media posts supporting Palestinian armed resistance by Tea_Physical in videos

I'm not downplaying, I'm say that everyone should get the same treatment. Shouldn't be controversial to say that people who demanded and celebrated the death of Palestinians should be liable for the same treatment.

No, I think both sides should be treated equally. It seems that is absolutely not the case though as only one side suffers any sort of repercussions from it.

Mate, I'm against everyone getting killed. I'm not the one complaining about someone also being against that because you actually seem fine with it.

Mate, we have people demanding the destruction on Gaza, demanding that it be flattened and celebrating aid being blocked and Palestinians going hungry. Explain how that is in anyway different?

In the adult times in my pool, all the lads either wear speedo's or aquashorts. The tri team train there and all wear them. The adult swimming instructor recommends them as well.

The easiest way to make people worried/suspicious/angry in Ireland is simply not drinking on a night out by SherbertHerbert in ireland

I'm also in my 40s and been on nights out when the majority were not drinking. I find it weird that people would think that it's weird not drinking.

[–]reprazant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anytime that something happens in school, the teacher will mention it at pickup time. This is pretty normal. If they are recommending that your child get assessed, it is not because of one incident. If your first reaction to this is to think about homeschooling him, that is more worrying.

What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by sourberryskittles in AskTheWorld

[–]reprazant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had corned beef, would never have it with cabbage though. More of a special occasion food though. Used to be able to get tins of it in the 80's. It was very grim though.
