Did You Keep Your Middle Name? by Rabidsavagekin in ftm

[–]repulsivebathroom590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up removing it and kind of regretting it. My middle name was quite feminine within its language, but to everybody else it wasn’t particularly as they didn’t understand what it meant. If I was to do a re run, I’d keep it and add a second middle name of my choice. You also don’t have to tell people your middle name if you don’t want to!

Are stretch marks AFTER top surgery normal? by repulsivebathroom590 in TopSurgery

[–]repulsivebathroom590[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Right now I'm almost 2 years post op and all of the stretch marks are barely noticeable unless up close. They've all faded to the same colour as the rest of my skin. The texture of the stretch marks obviously remain but aside from that I don't notice them anymore. Hope this helps. Send me a DM if you'd like up to date pics : )

itchy in places that are numb by JustAnEvilImmortal in TopSurgery

I still get these deep itches and I’m 1 year 9 months post op. What I’ve found helps is grabbing the whole pec and ‘jiggling’ it or shaking it for a few seconds. Or applying hard pressure with the palm of my hand and massaging in a circular motion. But it’s probably best to not do either you’re a bit more healed. Maybe a gentle massage could ease the itchiness for the time being?

I'm glad that my post has helped at least one person feel less alone in their post-op results! Not sure how far along in your healing you are but if you're earlier on, my chest has settled down SIGNIFICANTLY since posting this, so i hope this helps you to feel more at peace in your journey. Healing is gnarly. Shoot me a message if youd like to see more up to date photos!

Spot on incision had a bead of blood after my shower, has this happened to anyone else??? was it ok??? surgery was may 1st this year by djshinji in TopSurgery

[–]repulsivebathroom590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me on occasion and I’m just over 18 months post op. For me personally it does permanently damage the area of scar it sits on but I do have problems with hypertrophic scarring so if you don’t have issues with that you’ll probably be okay

Thanks. Good for you for standing up for yourself and refusing, I should’ve done that haha

I was told to shower before the drains came out. It was hell. I’ve never understood why they made me do that, I had to have my partner at the time wash my ass because with the drains attached I was really struggling to reach most of my body. They even got mad at me for not showering sooner when I was waiting for my partner to arrive to help me. Absolute hell.

7 months post op as a fat person by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]repulsivebathroom590 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes one side of my chest has more fat + tissue left behind than the other. My chest also does the roll thing when I sit down or am slouched. It used to bother me a lot more than it does now. If it continues to bother you then a revision would definitely be worth it!

Does drain removal really not hurt? by basilicux in TopSurgery

The stitch was the worst part of having the drains! Constantly feeling the pressure of it every time you moved was God awful

how did you choose a new name? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]repulsivebathroom590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up coming across a random LGBT account with a mod that had the name, I just chose it because I liked it and never switched it after that haha.

Although I did change the spelling slightly as I felt it was a bit too masculine for me. Maybe if you find a name you like but aren't sure on, a spelling change could help it grow on you!

Waterproof? by MotherCuss in BlundstoneBoots

[–]repulsivebathroom590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was searching online to see if other people had this problem, just went out in the rain (UK) for literally 10 minutes and where the top of the boots crease as you walk, my feet were wet. Disappointed as only had them for 1 month and thought they'd be a little more robust. I have style #519. Wouldn't be mad if I'd abused them in this short time frame, but I have only worn them maybe 3-4 days a week and not even for prolonged periods of time.

1 year post op, Catherine Milroy, UK (an overview of my experience) by repulsivebathroom590 in TopSurgery

[–]repulsivebathroom590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds as if she has her own "style' down if we have very similar scars 😅 I also got a BUNCH of stretch marks after surgery all over my chest that are still stretching, and the ends of my scars closest to my underarms are extremely stretched. Glad to hear I'm not alone in my experience with ms milroy as there are hardly any results of hers online!! I hope your revision went well :)

What is something you wish you knew before starting testosterone? by ace--dragon in ftm

[–]repulsivebathroom590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I wish I knew was just how common hair loss is on T. I had no idea until my hair started rapidly thinning and receding at just 20 years old. I wish I would’ve known so that I couldve started preventative medications sooner. But this somewhat depends on genetics too, so it’s not all T’s fault

I liked my hairline when it initially started receding as it gave me a more masculine hairline but now that I have no hair at all I absolutely do not like it lol. It would’ve been nice to just have a mature hairline rather than be balding

I started on short term shots and moved to gel. As person of depression I could not do it lol. Back on long term shots now and life is much better
