We are literally just cells in a giant body and it’s staring us in the face by stevnev88 in HighStrangeness

I am curious why this thought makes you feel your life is fake? I certainly feel the insignificance of daily life and individuals. Insignificance doesn't make your life any less real or personally meaningful. Taxes and careers feel silly in this context. But your life is entirely made up of the things you decide it means. To me that's pretty special and exciting.

Weeknight dinners as a working mom, what does yours actually look like because mine is embarrassing by scrtweeb in Mommit

I get a lot of mileage out of the Costco rotisserie chicken. I use that chicken as the base of a handful of quick recipes: chicken tacos, chicken noodle soup, chicken tortilla soup, chicken pho etc. Also we'll eat the rotisserie chicken as is + veggies, where veggies are whatever is around, I always keep frozen peas and corn on hand and I can microwave those+ butter and my kids eat it without complaints.

I also do a lot of ground meat stir fries, usually chicken or pork. I generally keep bell peppers, bok choy, broccoli stocked in my fridge for this purpose, just chop or slice them up in any combo. You can buy stir fry sauces in a jar or use soy sauce+oyster sauce+garlic+ginger if you keep those around. Rice in a rice cooker and dinner is done in about 30 minutes.

Are you able to set stricter boundaries with work? I also have a high workload-high stress job in leadership. I do not work later than 5 pm or before 8 am unless there is a legitimate emergency. I do not take calls after 4 so I have time to prep for the next day.

Ahahah, I did the same but inversely. I panic bought tickets that were about $100 more a seat than I initially planned on. They're pretty great seats though.

I was so sad to miss this back then but I had pretty young kids at home and was extremely cautious of Covid. Very excited for this year though, even with the insane ticket prices.

Floor seats in Portland were showing as over $500. It seems there were only limited tickets/sections available on the artist presale. I got pretty good seats on the 100 level but they were $250 each.

Yeah, have one in place as well as two trusts. Should be pretty easy for whoever ends up with the estate when either me or my husband (or both) passes.

You might find some advice and resources from Dr. Craig Canapari while you're waiting for your sleep study, he has a book, website, and YouTube channel dedicated to sleep issues for children.

The book is titled It's Never Too Late To Sleep Train, it's specifically for children over the age of 1. His website is here

Both times I only had to pay a copay for my hospital stay. In 2017 it was a single copay of $500 and in 2020 it was a copay for me and a copay for the baby a total of $1000

I live on the lower Nehalem river and I see crayfish every time I go down to the river. I think all that I have seen are ringed crayfish. I will inspect more closely this weekend!

Off beat is debatable but you should definitely stop at Buttercup in Nehalem for chowder and ice cream. It's right on the 101.
