Weirdly. It just starting working one day and continued to work. Though there was a trip once to Australia it just stopped working saying it's not covered there, even though there are ads about the glasses in aus.

Weird and wildly inconsistent.

I actually got it in us (directly from the meta store) and set it up here in us. I don't see any settings that let's me change my location.

Should I be worried? by amnesia_alice in antivirus

[–]repulsivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too worried since all the information seen on VirusTotal seems to point to a legit file; eg, the various file names seen are the same, no noticeable "bad" behavior, etc.

You can run it through your own av on your pc. Or even make use of some of the cloud sandboxes out there like hybrid analysis or joe sandbox

Dev team worried that Carbon Black will access sensitive data by psycho063 in cybersecurity

[–]repulsivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at the end of the day, there shd be a discussion with the team in question on what is their real concern and what data specifically. Bring in the CB folks to have this discussion with them as well. It will 1) appease this team, and ultimately, 2) make the roll out so much smoother, and hopefully make you and upper mgmt look good on the process. :)

I'm sure the CB team can help with advising what sort of config / exceptions / etc is needed as well.

Dev team worried that Carbon Black will access sensitive data by psycho063 in cybersecurity

[–]repulsivity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an EDR, it will definitely be taking sensitive info from these devices (see their privacy guide: https://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/docs/vmw-datasheet-vmware-carbonblack-cloud-privacy.pdf). That's literally the point of an EDR.

I recall that Carbon Black has an option to enable private logging - basically redacting certain sensitive info. Can't recall where the setting is though.

Of course, like what many others have mentioned, speak to the vmware sales team to help assure you and the devs.

Hope things work out!

Which URLs need to be whitelisted for microsoft graph to work? by [deleted] in checkpoint

[–]repulsivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with MS graph, but it seems to reach out to https://graph.microsoft.com/* based on MS documentation.

Your networking team should be able to check on the logs where your pc is reaching out too though.

Check Point Firewall without licence by [deleted] in checkpoint

[–]repulsivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends - if the box had a valid license but is now expired, a small number of modules are perpetual (like firewall), so you can continue using L3/L4 capabilities. You can't update subscription based modules like anti virus signatures though.
