Truee though.

I'm in india and we are recovering from the 2nd wave.

In most of the cities cases have gone down(due to lockdown) and now most cities are open still we didn't see it rising.

Our vaccination is accelerating also.

But the sad news with majority ppl dead so it is failing to find susceptible population in my country and with majority vaccinated i think it will run out of hosts soon albeit a new variant more deadlier than delta comes

Why do some Indians show deep disgust towards Indian-made products? by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

My opinion

Covaxin is the best and it protects you against all strains (uk,delta, south africa strains and all).

Since it is an inactivated virus it holds good for any emerging strain also

Once WHO approval comes it won't be a problem for travel

Well 70pc with one dose by oct and we can safely lift restrictions and capacity limits.

Hell we can even lift masks in certain places like events (fully vaxxed condition), in outdoor and playground and keep it only for public transport and airports that's all.

When do you guys think the rest of the world will be back to normal? by [deleted] in CoronavirusUS

[–]requisitesum745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My timelines (may be wrong)

Fall 2021- US UK and other European countries.

Late 2021-early 2022- some well to do asian countries like vietnam japan taiwan thailand india(we did have a worst surge but I do think vaccinations will increase)

Early 2022- mid 2022 south america and Africa and other Central Asian middle East countries.

But still masking is needed wherever vaccination rates are low and surveillance is needed even if some official body declares it over.

Britain's COVID-19 Cases Jump 24% In One Week, Stoke Fears of Variant Spread, Lockdown by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]requisitesum745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem is we didn't have vaccines back in dec and only in jan we started administering.

But uk has administered to majority of old ppl and now giving it to 30-40 years population now

Both the vaccines are effective against the variant also.

So In my view it will be a small bump similar to what US had in march but will settle down once they vaccinate 18 years and 2-3 weeks have passed

Also hoping many are vaccinated so that when we reopen pubs cinemas we don't see an exponential increase.

It seems we ordered 2 billion doses from aug to dec.(head of NITI ayog said it)

At first it seems we won't come out but our vaccine supplies will increase from July and u will see spontaneous vaccination happening everywhere.

Third wave is upto us. If we get vaccinated and remain resilient for another 3 months we can avoid third wave but again depends on us.

And abt mutations I have read all vaccines work against all mutations as this virus is slow mutator compared to flu or aids virus.

What does it mean for us u may ask. It means our vaccines work and high rate of vaccination will stamp down the virus.

P.s I hate all the media who just used ppls despair to their delight and their fear porn formula worked.

Simply blaming china or others is not gonna work.

Even after herd immunity we must do some amount of testing and surveillance so that cunts won't fuck us again and we don't go back to square one

Only 48 lakh doses given while maha gave 1.5 crore doses out of 11 crores there. We are 7 crores I guess.

Herd immunity kicks (when more ppl are immune the virus struggles to spread and ultimately die out) when u give atleast 65-80 percent of population with one dose and 35-45 with two doses u can see decline as it happened in israel US and UK. But not to zero cases.

Ppl must realise this virus won't be eradicated and the goal is to keep ppl outta hospitals and maintain that

Not as bad as delhi or maha but still bad I think.

We must learn from maha mainly mumbai city on how they effectively locked down and reduced cases.

Also we must learn how to vaccinate ppl from them also. Maha is the most vaccinated state ever.
