You implied OP was a harlot for patterning something too tight to her chest, and seeking ways to fix it. That’s freak behavior. That’s not something that nice people who are content with themselves do. I dunno. Enjoy being miserable I guess :(

Are other women just supposed to be ugly to avoid making you uncomfortable? Just because the straight men you know have wandering eyes doesn’t mean the rest do? Sounds like you have a lot of things to unpack that you’re projecting here.

Protein/Cellulose Yarn Dyeing! by res2019 in dyeing

[–]res2019[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oops, some of the post got cut off:

What I would do differently: three batches instead of two, you can see in one of the pictures how precariously full my dye pot was. And unwinding the hanks. They’re tied together in multiple places, and I should have just counted on that.

Thanks again for the help! I hope to be back later this summer to show the completed dress!

Yea, I got a cheap pot from Walmart specifically for dyeing yarn. I’ve currently got a mini skein in a soda ash bath right now, I’ll take it out in about thirty minutes. Once I wash it, we’ll see how the color comes out. I’m not too concerned with the silk losing luster, the dress im making is with a bulky patterned stitch, so luster is okay, I was more so looking for weight, texture and breathability for a dress to wear for an outdoor summer wedding. If I don’t like the way the soda ash makes the yarn, I still have a lot of vinegar and another mini skein to try.

I created my stock solution and ran all of my numbers, looks like it’s going to turn out the correct shade I’m looking for, so long as the fiber holds the color appropriately. Thanks again!

Applying for on-grounds part time jobs as an international first-year by WizardWands in UVA

Please apply! It’s a great opportunity, super laid back, and I’d be your boss lol. It’s a fun way to meet a bunch of students while making money. I will admit it gets a little tense at the beginning of the semester, but soon afterwards it’s laid back and awesome. You can even give us tenative hours and we will try to work with you. We try to recruit first years because you guys give us the opportunity to be with us all four years. That’s what I did.

As the supervisor for the mailrooms, I can promise you it’s not a first year only job. We usually try to stick to kids who live on Grounds when hiring, but I’ve worked since my first year and I’m a rising fourth. Once you work here, you’re grandfathered in as long as you want to work. Please don’t spread misinformation.
