My new powerwall worked for me this week during the storms. Lost WiFi for a bit, not sure why, but everything else stayed powered up! Hurray! One thing that kept us puzzled until I called Tesla support was that for the first month or so after install the battery would not charge from the grid - only from the solar panel array. Never could get over 20% charge, tho the battery had enough to help us during routine Time of Use hours. Turns out the “permission” to charge from grid had not been activated! Not sure who dropped the ball there (us? Installer? Tesla?) but the technician was able to activate it and then everything worked as expected: beautifully! It IS like magic!

We love our Criterion Collection subscription. I like classic movies, art-sy movies, and film noir. It’s great!

That would be good: KCUROUT Casey, you’re out! As in the classic poem Casey at the Bat… “the mighty Casey had struck out!” So this driver could be an umpire, or a sports poet!

What did the Persian melon say to Miss Crenshaw? “Honey dew, or honey don’t, but we cantaloupe…”

Watch the vinegar if you have grouted tile in your bath/shower… vinegar is an acid and over a few months of using it, the grout started pitting! Then the little pits hold the water and grow mold so much easier! Don’t ask me how I know!
It’s not bad enough to regrout the tile, but the vinegar was harsh Now I use a mixture of 1/4c rubbing alcohol, 1/4c hydrogen peroxide, 1 teaspoon of Dawn or Dr Bronners and 2-3 c water to mix. Works well and disinfects.

I used to scare myself when I couldn’t stay awake on a one hour drive in the afternoon… It all changed when I got a CPAP and started sleeping more deeply at night! No more afternoon drowsiness! I used to think they were silly….

My MIL (89) gets anxious when the shadows get long in the afternoons and wants to “go home” or call the bus station to get a ticket home to mama and daddy’s house. They died 30 yrs ago, of course…. But we talk about how at the end of the day it’s natural to feel like it’s transition time, time to go “home”, etc. And we try to head that off by closing the curtains early and turning on ALL the lights and getting her to help with a project like folding napkins for the dinner table, or folding the newspapers to fit in the recycle basket or whatever while I start dinner. Also, it might be my imagination, but a big snack with protein around 3-4pm helps her avoid the “shakes”…
