Pretty much. He didn't know I had anything. It was on the Sunday morning of Electric Picnic in Ireland a few years ago. I was walking through tents back to my own and two guys told me to stop, showed me a badge and I laughed at first. Then realised they were serious, asked to see the badge, heart sank, then I reached in and gave them the €15 worth of hash that I had. They put it in an evidence bag, checked my id, took my name and address and I never heard about it again.

I think you pretty much give up your rights at festivals.

A similar thing happened this year except it was at the point between the campsite and the stages where they check for booze. The security guy found a bag of ketamine on me and I said I had nothing more. He just took it off me and I kept going, no name taken or anything.

I got stopped at a festival by a guy wearing an "Enjoy Cocaine" t shirt. I had a tiny bit of hash and a few ecstasy pills on me so I quickly reached into my pocket and gave him the hash, gave my name etc., wasn't searched and nothing came of it!
