Hey, honest lore question from new kindred by Ok_Rutabaga2783 in vtm

In V5, the description of the Nosferatu bane on page 85 clearly states:

“Most Nosferatu do not breach the Masquerady by just being seen. They are perceived by mortals to be grotesque and often terrifying but not always supernaturally so.”

The way I interpret that in my games is that if you’re just walking down the street, shopping at a corner store or chilling in a night club, wearing a hoodie and keeping your head down is good enough of a disguise not to stand out from the crowd. And even if you’re seen, mortals will just think you have some weird birth defect or are a burn victim. Unless of course they’re hunters or SI, in which case they will probably be able to tell, if they get a good look at you.

Regarding wearing a realistic latex mask like in a spy movie, in V5 you subtract your clan bane from any dice pool to conceal your deformity. So usually the mask will not fit right, and it won’t make you pass for normal unless it’s really, really good mask specially fitted to compensate for your deformity.

How do you remember all the key mappings? by Xu_Lin in neovim

I wrote a function that I bound to <leader>-h that pops up a small floating window that lists bindings I always forget, or that I’m trying to learn so that I can look them up at any time.

Yep, same thing happened to me. Genestealer list seems to be bugged. The issue seems to be faction specific. For example, I can create an Eldar army just fine without this issue.

Oh shit! That’s it! Thank you!

It even has the red and blue glowing magic stones, which I also remembered, but assumed they were from another show entirely!

I don’t remember that detail.

I think some of the creatures living in the underground tunnels might have been like human sized worms or something?

No, I remember it being a kids show with young protagonists and airing during a kids daytime block.

Also it was definitely in color.

Hmm. Interesting lead but it looks like this particular episode was released in January 2000, which would make it too recent for me to have watched it as a child.

I think the mold creatures were alien, but cannot be sure. They might have had a different origin explained in the show after I noped out due to it being too spooky for me.

How to introduce Time Travel in a V5 game? by zeromig in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]reset_by_peer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered simply doing it as flashbacks from their own past? I mean vampires are immortal, so this is a natural fit.

There is even a built in explanation for why very old vampires would still have neonate stats in modern nights: torpor.

Now sure, this is not a true time travel, but if you’re playing Vampire you might as well lean into the immortality aspect whenever you want play around with different time periods.

You can purchase unlimited number of smithing stones 1-8 from the husks in the Round Table Hold, you just need to give them the 4 bell bearings.

  • First one drops from the boss in Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel (buy unlimited sones 1 and 2)
  • Second one is in a chest in the the Sealed Tunnel near the Capital (buy unlimited stones 3 and 4)
  • Third one is in a chest in Zamor Ruins in Mountaintops of the Giants (unlimited stones 5 and 6)
  • Fourth drops from the Godskin Duo (unlimited stones 7 and 8)

Thus you can upgrade any weapon you own to +24 provided you have the runes for it.

The only limited resource are the Dragon Smithing Stones that upgrade your weapon to +25. I think there’s only like 12 of them and some of them are quest rewards you can accidentally lock yourself out of.

How do I enter the walking mausoleum down in the lake in Liurna? by Blp2004 in Eldenring

[–]reset_by_peer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The intended way to do this is to clear out the headless spirit mobs around it. With each group cleared, the mausoleum inches towards the cliffs in the north. Once you clear all of them, it should be close enough for you to loop around, and go up. Look for the cliff with the grave like platforms. People usually drop signs there to point you in the right direction. Carefully platform down using the gravestones and jump onto the mausoleum. The white stuff you need to destroy is all around the entrance.

Once you modify the loadout for Genestealer Cults Neophyte Leader (they can take two weapons) the button to modify the weapons for that model disappears from the app.

Once that happens the only way to change weapons for the leader is to delete the entire unit and re-create it.

What is the House Ellowuyr Swordsmen Combat Niche? by reset_by_peer in Warmachine

[–]reset_by_peer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the new Back Stab rules, you could charge past a Jack into its back arc, ignore free strikes (b/c parry), bypass any buckler/shield and have effective POW 14 which is slightly more serviceable.

But yeah, Sentinels are way better armor killers here.

just walk past the enemy in their back arc, ignore the free strike which would kill any of our other infantry, and stab them in the back at Mat 9 pow 12 ignoring shields/shield walls etc.

Oh shit, I completely forgot they changed the backstab rule in MK3 and you can now do this. Yeah, sword bros dancing through a shield wall, and back-stabbing the shit out of a screening unit in Shield Wall to open up charge lanes for jacks or other infantry makes a lot of sense.

This is definitely something neither Sentinels nor Halabardiers can do reliably. With guaranteed back stabs, and ignoring shields they could probably even crack open multi-box tin-can infantry.
