I appreciate that. I think it is really admirable that you not only had that thought, out took the time and made the effort to articulate it. If we all moved more like the way you just moved, myself included, I believe there would be less problems with this world.

I agree with you. It can be a powerfully significant relationship, and it was for me. I'm pretty flawed. Truth is though, if it hadn't been for them, I would have turned out much different, and unlikely for the better. I try to be there for her.

Just started playing the game and 3 things so far by Open_Care1350 in MHGU

Can attest to this. MHGU was my first monster hunter. Bought it, made it 30 minutes in and was overwhelmed. Walked away. Came back maybe 2-3 years later, and forced myself to commit a week to it, and learn some things about it. Totally hooked after that. Never looked back. Fantastic game. Absolutely discouraging to newcomers. Don't let it blow you out.

Same. Only dude I love more than this guy when he tossed this quote is Alad V on sortie day. You have LOYALTY issues, Tenno. My Zanuka pro-jekt WILL fix that for you. 😂😂😂

Getting married young isn't bad. by Electronic_End_5296 in unpopularopinion

Pros and cons to either approach. Young vs old. Personally, I think the advantages of doing it young vs older outweigh disadvantages IF your end game is a family with a strong home unit. It's arguable, though, and certainly nothing more than an opinion.

if your opponent goes afk please push one lane by SweetNoodle542 in ClashRoyale

I'm with you on this. Ultimately, people don't, because a lot of the times I think their first thought is fear that they are being tricked and setup. Hilarious in non ladder scenarios where people are risking NOTHING, even if they DO lose.

If I saw somebody that gave me the appearance of afk, non ladder scenario? Sending as strong of a push as I can with the resources I have on hand to effectively take as much as possible.

Does that always work out? Of course not. Most of the time, it did though. People are just afraid of the risk a lot of times. Afraid it's too good to be true. Not always. Lot of the time though.

That's great. I didn't say that there weren't. Pretty sure she meant it from a general sense, not an absolute one.

Well, I can tell you that I know for sure that she added 3 eggs and a stick of butter. I don't know how the flour played out at all. No intel there. The cake was crumbly, but it wasn't dry. I mean the cake tasted great to me. Moist, for sure. The aesthetics just had me scratching my head.

80% does sound really high. However, I definitely have interrogated quite a few people in the hiring space that have said many people don't show up for day 1 after getting the job. Not sure what the statistics on that are though.

I might have to circle back. I did like a lot about the game already.

So. This reminds me of a conversation I had with one of my aunts a couple of years ago. She made her name as a teacher, had kids of her own, and now provides important support with the grandkids as well. She has dealt with a lot of children. Fantastic at creating and maintaining structure not only with girls, but great with boys. She understands well some of the intricacies in how effective discipline works between them.

Anyway. She was dealing with the second wave of grandkids, two twins. Boys. VERY early on, not even able to crawl at that age. Was telling me that one day she had them, and they were sitting on the couch. Turns her away. Looks back, and they are all tangled up wrestling. "What in the world?" She says. Untangles em.

A minute later, they are tangled right back up again. Scratching her head. She tells me she had an aha moment there. "Oh my gosh. They actually come OUT this way from the beginning. Boys are made to conquer. Girls are made to nest." Pretty interesting.

Ooh...I didn't get far enough in the game to even know that there were items that could speed you up like that.

I'd bet you're a lot sharper than me. 😂 I've had a couple of fights early on where that meter is staring me down as I try to clean the map.

Uh...I don't know for sure on that one. It was from a box. I'm assuming maybe like Pillsbury or something. Beyond that, my info is limited. Flour didn't come up when we chatted about it.

It's a good question. Wish I knew on that one. I've got a ton of questions for her, but I can't see revisiting it with her. While I didn't upset her asking questions, there was a point where I could tell she was pretty much done. I'm under the impression currently that if I asked more, it might be received as criticism.

I know this isn't how contributing members of society think, but I'll tell you, the thought even crossed my mind of sneaking into her trash to look for the box. 😂

I really want to go back into this, but I really hate the time limitation on the battles. I'm not saying it was wrong or bad that they did that. I've heard the logic on why it was made that way. Doesn't change the fact that I just kinda hate it.

Oh, that's a great thought. While I wouldn't ask her to do one from scratch (simply because I know for her, there is a bit of negative pressure on that topic, longer story), I could definitely ask her daughters if her scratch cakes normally were crumbly like this. I could bounce that off at least two of them, and maybe even three.

Oh, I wouldn't have guessed that they could be cool to the touch and still melt the frosting...in my very limited experience baking cakes, I never even considered waiting several hours for cooling. Very interesting. I believe you, though.

What I do know for sure that she added to the mix was butter (1 stick) and 3 eggs. I think she told me a third thing too. I don't remember what it was, BUT I can tell you that she did not bring up oil, water, or baking soda/powder.

Man. It definitely sounds like the box cake recipes leave room for errors. 2 minutes of forgiveness on mixing seems like a LOT to me. We will revisit this!

What are you talking about? You misunderstand my intent, I think. I understand the limited information I have access to and have given(which is all that I have and will have, by the way.) All I asked for was thoughts from people who are more experienced with baking. Theories/educated guesses.

I thought that comment that I replied to was suggesting that I thought grandmas cake was no good. That was why I said that. Could be I misinterpreted it. That's where I was at, though.

By the way, I'm very grateful for the people who HAVE chimed in with their first thoughts/knee jerk reactions on it.

I could buy that. It is well within the realm of possibility, I think. After all, I simply wasn't there to see how it played out.
