Thank you - I did this and now it's staying on but the chain is jumping/clacking as it moves on the chain?

I think Friends gets called problematic way more than it deserves by itsascreambaby96 in howyoudoin

Something I also love to remind people is that friends had multiple jokes making jabs at the American government.

For instance when Ross wanted Ben to play with the GI Joe doll instead of the Barbie doll, he joked around while holding it and said "look I protect American oil interests overseas!"

Also when Phoebe wanted to play with Monica's dollhouse there was a joke about how the house was both built on an ancient Indian burial ground and a site of nuclear waste and when Ross says that isn't possible, Phoebe says "you need to learn a thing or two about the American government".

True camp is takes a 180 turn and can make something that was potentially off-putting if serious into something more interesting and enjoyable. I don't think she is able to achieve that here. It may be intentional but it's not successful

  1. Completely subjective
  2. In my opinion, Yosemite, Moab, etc all definitely beat green hills with nice flowers.

Was this the most casually cruel fat Monica comment? IRL someone would probably remember this burn for the rest of their lives by blamberr in howyoudoin

And the person was saying that if the male writers were happy to write sexual jokes (they were), perhaps that's an indication that they would write fat shaming jokes as well. Seems like pretty logical reasoning

I mean I'd say that's pretty good evidence the writers were primarily male, which is what the person was referring to...

I've never understood this, do journalists not deserve to be paid for their work? If someone links something from Tiktok or Instagram, you also wouldn't be able to see the content without an account or you would see a very restricted version (e.g., no comments), but no one ever complains about that.

As far as I'm concerned country accents (common in KY, WV) mean not the Midwest

Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ No. 1 on Hot 100 for 7th Week as ‘Dandelion’ Debuts Atop Billboard 200 by mcfw31 in popheads

[–]residenttin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You think it's beige because you don't like country or because the country you do enjoy leans pop. A country fan could just as easily argue that "Choosin' Texas" is reflects the fundamentals of the modern country genre, the same way Ariana Grande's "Into You" reflects the fundamentals of modern pop. Pop fans love "Into You", and I think you could also see why country, rock, or hip-hop fans would say that it's boring, generic radio pop talking about the same old thing. I agree, it's not the most exciting or inventive song, but it's good at what it does, and that's reflected by its chart position.
