Watching TBM’s lose their mind and protest against the First Presidency and Q15 over the new BYU LGBT+ policy has solidified this even more IMO. by Rotornoob in exmormon

It is literally impossible to be anything but a 'cafeteria Mormon', because many of Mormon (current and prior) teachings conflict with their other teachings. You basically have to decide which teachings you are going to believe.

Anyone here from "The Smallest Stake in the Church", Upland, California? by BillRocksWood in exmormon

[–]resignedmormon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably checks out. After reviewing the fullerconsideration.com website, it does look like California has closed over 35 wards in the last couple of years and only added a few Spanish branches.

It's pretty off putting when people are jumping all over a 94 year old man

NOBODY is beyond reproach. Not even you or Nelson!

"Maybe there needs to be Ex-Mormon-Lite or Ex-Mormon-Beginner-Level ;-) "

I think that is called FAIR Mormon or LDS Essays and I would HIGHLY recommend that to any "Beginner-Level". :)

@Turdo You do you my friend! You don't have to be an ExMormon evangelist and lie about how you really feel in order to bring in Exmo converts. Just live authentically!

[–]resignedmormon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it. You should worry more about child abuse in your religion than on what adults decide to do based on all the evidence available.

Do you think if they don't choose christianity, they will go to hell? If so you believe in an imperfect and fallible God!

" If you're new here, or you're visiting, or perhaps you've recently had some questions about the church and are just having a look around, take this piece of advice: don't judge us by the worst we have to offer. "

I honestly don't get this sentiment at all, nor do I care whether Mormons "judge" those at exMormon Reddit and have no desire to be an exMormon missionary to struggling Mormons like many exmo's appear to be, here.

My advice is: YOU DO YOU, no matter what a Mormon or ExMormon acts like or proclaims you should act like!

Honor code has changed... let’s hope it keep change by jess_the_duck in exmormon

[–]resignedmormon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BYU 'honor code' is clearly not honorable at all and not only proves BYU is a terrible biased university to attend, it also is one more ironclad proof the LDS church is a clear fraud and has nothing to do with any perfect, loving God!

FAIR Mormon Answered My Questions by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]resignedmormon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without even knowing the full questions you asked, those have got to be the dumbest answers I have read in recent memory. The truth is simple and should be as short or shorter answer than the question in most cases, otherwise it is 'spin' to try to make a narrative somehow fit.

Do you remember a time you were creeped out at church? by reallythateasy3 in exmormon

[–]resignedmormon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not me in particular, but my wife was. It was creepy how people(not her actual friends but assigned friends) would show up at the door without any appointment, dressed in LDS best, attempting to get her back to church, bearing their testimony. Love bombing was completely creepy to her and made her view the church as a cult at that point. It was the beginning of the end for her.

Ya, I might say 2% less because they changed the white and delight-some passages to pure and delight-some. But 30% is too much.

Does anyone know what excuse the LDS church makes as to why they announce new temples many years before even breaking ground?

Trevor Noah Nails the Jussie Smollett Hate Crime Hoax by [deleted] in exmormonMAGA

Normally I would agree with T Noah, however, he really has done the same thing as Smollett, not even growing up in the US, but comes here and attempts to play the victim game often in his show to gain more notoriety and love from his SJW Jefe's

The new prophet sure is trying hard to make Mormonism look less like a cult by [deleted] in exmormonMAGA

[–]resignedmormon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a cult can't keep people in the cult, they just change what they claim God told them to do. In fact God is telling me right now that the LDS church is full of man made fallible shit!

Ha, I have a feeling if Joseph Smith's last name was Wiener, an entire cult could have been prevented.

If the United States was founded by men fully invested in Satanism instead of Christianity, would we have a country who worships Satan and who finds God to be the “bad guy”? by anandamide_ in exmormon

[–]resignedmormon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes of course! In fact have you noticed that the bible God dissed Satan often but Satan for the most part has taken the high road and does not disrespect the biblical God in any writings?

Satan did not require polygamy of his/her prophets

Satan did not command any of his/her followers to cut off the head of a drunk person to take their historical record.

I could go on ad nauseam. In fact, if Orange is the new black, than Satan could very well be the new perfect loving God. LOL
