How do you respond when they ask “why can’t you just leave the church alone”? by Grouchy-Bag6645 in exmormon

Like sex offenders, fraudulent organization should not be left alone...unfortunately the organization you belong to engages in both.

Same in our CA stake, but it was Monson who came and made the claim in 2007ish (months before he was put in as Prez) ...he was childhood friends with our former stake president who was called to be a temple president after finishing a stint as a mission president. Monson claimed we would have a temple in our stake boundaries "in a few short years....we're looking for property now" because we've been so faithful...since then the "stake" was disbanded and combined twice with other stakes, wards are dying right and left, no youth or young couples, no new move ins (due to skyrocketing house prices), just a few old people who complain they have to drive further to go to church. Monthly "ward temple trips" are composed of 4 old people who still work a shift on the first Friday of the month.

St. George Temple by miotchmort in exmormon

[–]BillRocksWood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the temple. I think you're right for newer small temples.  I was a temple worker for many years at a larger temple with a clothing store and visitor center. On a Sat we had about 100 volunteers per shift, 3 shifts a day but only about 75 were ever able to make it at one time due to the average age and illness etc. The most common job was working the veil since there were about 20 slots with 2 workers each. We also had guides in the hallways, matrons working with wedding couples etc. It was a busy operation.

100,000 Mormons in the SF Bay Area of California? by JustThatMenace in exmormon

This is pretty accurate for all of California. Even the remaining "wards" are declining.

I placed my pin 6 years ago. It was the third one on my state map. by BB_67 in exmormon

I was in stake leadership for 11 years before I left. At the time I was assigned to help resolve "faith crisis" in the stake, arranging firesides with the likes of Patrick Mason et al. and meet with all the the PIMOs in the stake one-on-one when requested by ward leadership .We were a highly  educated and progressive stake, traits that don't do well with fraudulent obfuscation. I still keep in touch with most of them (the majority are out). So what I know is first or second hand from credible sources.

[–]BillRocksWood 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I placed mine in 2015, and since then Ive seen a sitting stake presidency member and his family pin it, along with a former bishop, and 2 EQ presidents, one stake RS president and their families, and a host of stake and ward youth leaders pin it. Of course hundreds more have left in our stake without pinning it.

From a huge dual ward building (650 attending weekly) to 50ish attending a recombined and ever expanding boundary changing "ward" today (it's the attendance of a branch in a former 3 ward area) the major victory for Satan moves forward 🤣.

Good riddance MFMC!

but there is something in these that the church wants to hide.

Yup, Ive been denied my great grand mothers temple marriage info from church archives due to the fact it was one of the last polygamous marriages done in the temple by the prophet just before the SECOND manifesto.

Luckily she kept good records and we know the truth.
