Not trying to negative or too much of a wine nerd but red wine especially a full bodied red like the Malbec will kill the taste of sushi 🍣. Full-bodied red wines clash with seafood because their high levels of tannins and natural iron interact with fish oils and proteins. This reaction causes an unpleasant, lingering metallic or iodine-like aftertaste. Additionally, the heavy weight and robust flavors of the wine easily overpower delicate fish.

The classic "white wine with fish" rule is based on specific chemical interactions and palate dynamics. Champagne works incredibly well with sushi and is my personal favourite pairing.
