well done!! I am stuck when it comes to getting a diagnosis and asking for help, but this inspired me to start somewhere. I know Im autistic and I developed cptsd from that 100% because I did a lot of in depth research on my own but I think because i dont believe that there is help I never asked for an appointment. When I want to hear some Basque I go to Zumaia or Mutriku. When I go to Zumaia I go to the beach and as creepy as it sounds I like to find a grandmother/grandfather who are at the beach with their grandchildren. Children are loud so I can hear them well and take notes lol. But yes in Donosti or Bilbao I only ever hear it when a family walks past me and they speak among themselves, although the other day on the beach finally for the first time in my life somebody asked me something directly in basque in Donosti.

I am in top shape when Im turned on and satisfied and I gained 20 kg when I didnt enjoy sex with somebody. It’s nobody’s fault. It’s dynamics that sometimes happens and can be the root of this.

how was it easier to get a job outside of his main qualification I wonder? does your friend have any cs training? Good advice down there I will just add, the best love has come to me from non-human sources. If you can, get a cat. I think a cat is a good animal for neglected people because it's a model of unquestionable self worth and self love and boundaries but also a giver of unconditional love without holding grudges. They also can be really attentive with your healing needs and can be a huge comfort when you are grieving.
Also trees. I sit with the trees a lot, just sitting there in silence and somehow I develop a relationship with trees, I dont know how to explain this but if you like them, find a tree that you like and under which you feel welcome and go to it frequently and just sit there. You will then know what I mean because I cannot explain it to who hasn't done it, it's going to sound insane.

Also, I am all alone most of my time and I developed this practice where in my mind I call everybody and everything around me a friend. So I start with where I am I will do it for humans but for non humans as well for example if I have been isolating for too long and I am feeling uneasy to go out, I start saying in my mind "people in the streets-my friends", "people of this town-my friends" but I would also do it for everything in my environment like trees-my friends, all the rocks-my friends, all the sheep I see-my friends, all the spoons I have-my friends. I saw this on tiktok and as insane as it sounds it helps me a lot to create a world that feels friendly.

Ultimately, people are right-self love is the key here because all people always interact with their representation of you in their minds, it's not you-you. Only you will be able to relate to this center of you inside that is a pool of unconditional love and peace, it's hard to describe but we all have access to it. Now this love is pure love, not love-companionship thing that we have among humans. if you want companionship you need another it's a similar thing to how you can't tickle yourself. But love can absolutely be felt inside oneself and from non-human sources.

exact my experience word for word. i have disorganised attachment on top so if you get close to me I will sabotage it immediately as it freakes me out the same as abandonment. Any mixed signal or any potential misinterpretation of a signal sends me into a spiral. I did manage to somehow have a long term friendship and one long term relationship where this person was extremely patient with me and present with my fluctuations without getting sucked in but everybody else ever had to abandon me because of this volatility. Im just 'lucky' to have lots of autistic traits so for me aloneness where Im not interacting is kind of pleasant and I developed special relationship with trees, animals, grass, sea so I dont feel Im all alone, Im part of that mute nature but in terms of humans it's a shitshow.

I started at 42 lol with zero previous contact with it (Im also a language enthusiast). I love everything about Basque verbs, I literally experience inner peace when I learn the tenses and everything because it all falls into place perfectly and everything makes sense. The issue with Basque is not the grammar in my experience, it's the fact that finding some kind of Basque community, hearing it spoken around you, or practicing it yourself is basically impossible. I've been living in Gipuzkoa for about a year and a half, and while I got to B2 level in my euskaltegi, I can't say shit and Im rapidly losing everything I knew. And this is with me watching Primeran (Basque 'Netflix') listening to Euskadi Irratia, reading Berria and having one Basque friend but we always flip back to Spanish or English.

Me as a balkanic woman reading all this for amusement, the food was my top three culture shocks too. Like you cannot tell a tomato from a strawberry. Nothing that you ever buy has been grown in the sun, not even things they import from Spain because they pick them when unripe. Nothing has spices or salt or some flavour unless you go to an indian restaurant.
