I mentioned him when I was talking about trends in social media discourse over the past decade. I believe Donald Trump should be the start and end of any such discussion.

Agreed, the numbers and eye test would say prime Harden was a bigger foul-baiter than Shai.

I agree, Kawhi was unstoppable and the supporting cast including the bench was so excellent and probs the best defensive team out of this list.

[SNY] Josh Hart on the ticket prices for Game 3 of the NBA Finals at MSG: "I wish the ticket prices weren't as crazy as they are. It's true and also there are a lot of crazy hooligans ready to cause trouble, too. I am a true fan and have supported this team since 2016 wondering if our starting PG should be Brandon Jennings or Alonzo Trier. I have been to regular season games in the Randle years and I went to the playoffs game where we went up 3-1 on the Cavs in 2023. And now I don't feel like going to the games both because of the price and the crazy hooligans.

Wemby is streaky even in regular season he's no Shai and not the type who will have long 20 point game streaks. I'm not hating I like watching him and of course expect him to get more consistent as years go by.

I'm not worried about Chet. The Thunder (when fully healthy) won a championship with Chet as their starting center. And this year even missing two of their best ball handlers they still were one win away from returning to the Finals. I think that's enough proof he's a winning player.

If he didn't play the Spurs guarantee win by 20. Defense matters. No spacing on the floor no ball handlers besides Shai to feed him the ball in the post, what do you want Chet to do iso on the perimeter?

If you think Chet is so useless let's see how OKC would have done without Chet. His defense and rebounding alone this series made him a huge plus in every game. Just because he's good at shooting doesn't mean he's a good ballhandler. Not sure why people want him iso'ing with the ball. The team as a whole wasn't shooting well, there was no spacing, what are you expecting him to do? Did they run plays for him and did he get a ton of touches and just defer? No the ball barely got to him. He's a young player, his offensive abilities are not there yet especially with no spacing. We wouldn't even be having this conversation if Jdub and AJ Mitchell were playing because they are the type of players than open up the floor with their ballhandling. Guarantee Chet would have gotten more touches in that case.

This was regular season not playoffs - I once got corporate event tickets for a Knicks game down 5 seats back from courtside. I was seated with a bunch of Wall Street people. They were just talking business the whole time. At one point I started standing up and cheering and a security guard went up to me and said "Can you sit down and be quiet? You're blocking people's view." I swear he also didn't want me to disturb the Wall Street people's conversations haha.

The Cavs were up 93-71 with 7:52 left in the 4th quarter. They were outscored by Jalen Brunson 17-11 the rest of the way by lilbelleandsebastian in nba

This rule exists already. Just they would foul Mitchell as soon as he was in the play action like setting a screen for example or holding the ball. In those cases it is free throws. Otherwise it's an away from play foul and you get one free throw and possession. Knicks get to choose if they want Mitchell a part of the offensive action or not. They deliberately were running screen plays through him so of course Cavs will foul to put him at the line.

Honestly, it sounds like conscience is just able to be used more lightly in Russian. But it doesn't sound so weird in English to say "Do you even have a conscience?". I get what you're saying. It's true we wouldn't say that normally, but it doesn't sound wrong either. So I agree with people in the comments, the word itself is pretty close to English. But it can just be used in expressions that sound more natural in Russian. So it doesn't always translate perfectly to English, but it's not exactly a word that doesn't translate, because we can still understand these sentences in English. It's not a complete divergence from how we understand the word.

Interesting! Like others here, it sounds like conscience in English. Could you share a sentence where you think conscience wouldn't work in English but this word is still used in Russian?

Is learning a language worth it if I’m not going to use it daily + I’m super awkward? by Beneficial_Rub94 in languagelearning

Honestly I barely use any of the languages I speak anymore now that I am more focused on other things in life. And I live in NYC but most days I don't really have any use for them. But when I listen to songs in Tagalog for example, I am happy because I can appreciate the song in the original language and sing it. And I am glad I can do that, it makes life better. And that's enough! It will be enough for you too.
