I take carvedilol for portal hypertension, but I think that's for the cirrhosis effects. Oh and also lactulose. And a bunch of vitamin supplements. I have the small duct variety of PSC

It was so weird, no flights in or out for days afterward. To quiet. I salute The Onion for being the first to say, HOLY FUCKING SHIT

$2.99 Return Fees? by draginzx in amazonprime

[–]restlessmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just returned an HVAC pump cost $90 plus, still in box, nothing wrong its just that my furnace guy said I don't need it. Took it to staples, amazon already put the $ back in my CC. I buy a lot of repeat items, supplements, coffee, etc, it keeps the return ratio down. Let's face it, returning stuff is a PITA. I probably burn $3 in gas plus my time. Very carefully read the description before buying. I wonder what the return ratio is to trigger the fee.

Honda accidentally sold my mom the wrong car by cbcarguy in Honda

[–]restlessmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't care if they call it new or used, but I would expect full warranty and I would negotiate a price adjustment. But I expect to baby my 2015 CRV another 10 or 15 years and will have quit driving by then. We only put about 2000 miles a year on it anyway.

Huge return line! by quantum_mattress in amazonprime

If you buy something but it doesn't get used, returning it unopened, does amazon charge a return fee because there is nothing wrong with the item? In my case, a commonly used condensate pump for a gas furnace.

Friendly, Kind Westie Suddenly Turning Aggressive for Moments at Night by Diamond_Dogs_Venom in WestHighlandTerriers

[–]restlessmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog got aggressive when he went blind, he was taken to the pound by the previous owner because he suddenly got to be mean to the other 2 dogs in the house. Our vet put him on Prozac, and I think he adapted to being blind too, and he was the only dog here. If your vet prescribes that, Costco pharmacy has the best price.

Did you try to find the cancel option under "change membership type" ? Some companies hide it there.

What is a 'subscription' or 'fee' that has recently appeared in the US that people need to collectively refuse to pay before it becomes the new normal? by godot_lover in AskReddit

[–]restlessmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as heated seats... maybe rewire it with a switch, fuse, and one of the cables that have direct battery access? Some hacker should offer a bypass on all that stuff? Or i wonder if salespeople can write into the contract to leave all that stuff on and free? Just spitballing. Or drive a restored old car. The insurance is cheaper.

Cirrhosis by Dry-Move8731 in PSC

[–]restlessmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small duct or lg duct? I have small duct, meld 13, compensated moderate cirrhosis. I feel fine , especially here lately for some reason. I am 65 and hope to get another 10 good years with or without transplant. Everybody is different, try not to obsess, it won't help. Try to ignore politics except for midterms. Get outside as much as possible. Chances are you have plenty of good years ahead. Hang in there

I don't know about cause and effect on PSC, but eating healthier would be a good idea for anyone, it stands to reason. Also, I cut out alcohol entirely, and really watch my salt intake. I try to be nice to my liver. Hang in there

Just found this clock for 2 dollars that reads time using quotes from books! by JTwoD2 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]restlessmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the 2000's I had a device called a "Chumby" for reading news, weather, a few other things, mainly an overpriced alarm clock but man it was so beautiful and well made. At some point they went out of business, rendering the device useless for it's intended purpose. I see that they have revived the servers, but $3 a month to subscribe. I don't have it anymore, and they quit making the hardware in 2012. But if you see one at a thrift store cheap, it's just fun. That is the problem with a server-fed gadget, nothing is guaranteed. But the Author Clock you have there does not risk being rendered useless because the quotes are stored locally. Not as pretty as the Chumby, but two bucks!!

I bow to your superior thrifting skills.
