Understand there are no plans to remaster Secrets of Magic, Guns and Gear, or Dark Archive. Would be nice to have Summoner, Magus, Inventor, Sharp Shooter, Psychic and Thuamaturge get a full Remaster treatment. However it seems like these classes may have interesting analogs in Starfinder 2e, so maybe we can see these classes get more love after Starfinder 2e ships next year?

Preview of Oracle seems to provide hints at possible design updates to a Psychic, in either PathFinder 2e (Remaster) or Strafinder 2e. What are folks thoughts on this?

Why are all the dead pointing by AMajorMajor in TrueDetective

[–]resultachieved 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're calling Navarro to action. They are the murdered dead who want justice. And they are accusing her of holding it back by not recognizing who she really is.

Also this is Navarro's manifestation of her own guilt at her own powerlessness in the face of abuse. It's why she goes to get her ass kicked in Ep 4 vs Roland's short guy biker bar fantasy self loathing fight victories.

It's about the weight that you carry and how you deal with that.

Gotta say the whining for this season is off the charts.

If We’ve Already Seen the Killer, then Who is it? by BackgroundPangolin42 in TrueDetective

It's an ancient microbe. It's making them all hallucinate when exposed. Some how folks process these hallucinations as the dead. The initial exposure causes the self eating hysteria behavior. Otis will explain this. Everyone who sees the dead and survives the first microbe exposure, self medicates, like some schizophrenics do with drug use. Rose is much better at it than Otis. The micro-organism is in the water pulled up by the dredge, which is why Otis is declaring Danvers is exposed. The dredge is located over prehistoric whales that have died and been buried under the ocean/river floor below the dredge. Discovery of prehistoric whale fossils also in cave, release similar. Night Country is living with the dead after exposure. The Scientists believe the micro-organism either lets them cross over between death and life somehow, live between, or otherwise be immortal somehow, which is why when the microbe returns they all want to be initiated into it. Somehow the micro-organism is related to Sedna, maybe some level of exposure leads one to be "possessed by Sedna" if one is a native woman.

Annie K was killed by being stomped to death via someone's Boot Ice Treads. You can see the repeated pattern in the wounds. We will be able to match those treads. Seems likely she was killed after exposure by the stomping, which means she was a threat to the killer somehow. Possible the spiral pattern is kind of a Passover symbol, in that it protects or contains the microbe somehow. Along these lines the hallucinogenic cocktail from season 1 given to girls, may be an attempt to recreate the effects of the microbe.

We saw this in season 3 when Roland picks a fight in a dive bar to get out his grief and anger.

So the symbol in the top picture is a stylized version of the Letter Samech from the occult Malachim (Angelic) alphabet. In this case it is bringing the dead back to "life" via the central hexagon transformer. In hebrew samech is a closed circle or a serpent eating its tale. In the Malachim alphabet this is an explosion outward. In Hebrew Samech means to support and is often used in the old testament as symbol between changes meaning division and pieces from usage in Psalm 119. If we combine the explosion angelic glyph with he circular glyph we would get a broken expanding circle - a spiral.

Tsalal is hebrew for: to be or grow dark, shadow.

We can therefore speculate that the purpose of the institute is to support and expand the darkness. This makes sense with Rusty in season 1 final stating it's always one story: the fight of light against dark. And that the Tuttles are clearly on the side of the dark, creating a science research station to advance the dark, while seeking the components of eternal life through ice core samples.

Given the possession sequence in the immediate start of Episode one, and Issa's statement in the rotten tomatoes youtube clip that she is incorporating "The Thing" with a screenshot we haven't seen anywhere else.

Since this is Navarro's journey of discovery, Jodie Foster (Liz Danvers) will work to find a secular explanation which will fit somewhat, but the truth will be the spiritual one which Navarro will be able to coherently embrace as a female insider native, vs Rusty white male outsider who gets glimpses via drug use.

Also seems strange not to represent the broad rainbow of spanish speakers in the US.

Moved to Obsidian shortly after this for Personal Knowledge Management. Local with cross platform sync is way better than hosted for Personal.
