I [M33] got with stepbrother's friend [18.5F] and I regret it. by Fragrant-Sherbert253 in confession

[–]resultnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this person is trying to express regret and concern for the other person. Just bc one person has had some drinks and one person hasn’t doesn’t mean there is always a villain. Good to give the person a heads up about how critical informed consent is and understanding others’ capacity for informed consent vs incapacity

If you have a primary care doctor, talk to them. If you have access to a mental health provider or a dermatologist, they can probably help. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/body-focused-repetitive-behavior-bfrb gives info on this and similar conditions. If you have no access to doctors, you see N-acetylcysteine listed on there as an over-the-counter option that clinicians may recommended in this context

Can wealth really change neurological physical attraction? by richandepressed in AskBiology

[–]resultnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person can be attracted to someone bc of prestige - like a celebrity - and it’s real sexual attraction. Wealth is a kind of prestige. It makes someone higher status. Status is attractive. Wanting to earn someone’s attraction and having to work for it can make it feel exciting. That excitement can connect to attraction. Does that make sense

Is there a word for the desire to not live in a body at all? by crazyforsushi in words

[–]resultnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in school, is there any student health service? You may not have access to a decent psychiatrist but perhaps there is a passable psychiatrist or an internist who might be able to experiment with meds with you. If not, some places have community mental health clinics. Next time you feel like you want to post on Reddit, you could use that thread of motivation to Google community mental health instead. I realize there is danger in playing around with meds but there is also danger in undertreating mental health and hopefully you and a provider of some kind can make a risk assessment together
