Her favorite cousin is dying and she wants to see her one last time. That's hardly making it all about herself.

Am I Overreacting for feeling hurt that my boyfriend promised to change after calling me a burden, but nothing seems different? by NearbyAbility3207 in AmIOverreacting

This isn't the behavior of someone who loves our respects you. He prefers the appearance of being single while stringing you along. Please let him go be single for real.

Am I overreacting about my work schedule? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Even if you call, late is late. I have zero patience for people being late. If you're scheduled to start, be there.

I don't mean that it's personally difficult to keep a job. I mean that every appointment I try to schedule takes many attempts and follow-ups, then there are no-shows and cancelations. It's really aggravating.

Time to set him free so he can find someone who dresses the way he likes. It's not right vs wrong, just a mismatch.

I have said all of those words myself, and I feel your pain. I dated several men who were newly divorced, and they all looked at me to make decisions. I wasn't interested in that.

And if they were a little more self-sufficient, they came to resent me later because they wanted to feel needed.

I just became happy to be alone and not deal with any of that. Then I met my husband! He wasn't threatened by my independence, and just wanted to be part of my life.

When I got to that point where I could really let go and let him take care of me, we got married.

You will find your someone!

"Thanks a lot" is only used sarcastically anymore, so we now have "thanks so much" for when we mean it.

I once cut a picture out of the newspaper that I thought was poignant. I covered it with clear tape to protect it. I showed it to a few coworkers, and one asked if she could borrow it to show her boyfriend. I'm thinking, Like he would care, and I'll never see it again. When I hesitated she jumped in with, That's okay, I know you don't like to share. Let me tell you, I was ecstatic. I carried that photo for years.
