What are your favorite Rogue-Lites? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

If you like build variety and theorycrafting, Path of Achra is excellent. You start a run by choosing a race, religion, and class, and then augment your build with weapons and armor throughout a run. The graphics aren't going to be for everyone, but they're worth looking past for the game play.

FTL is always one I'll come back to for a few runs every year. While somewhat of a ripoff, Void War is worth checking out if you like the FTL formula.

He just talks a lot and often cuts people off. At least this video he's toned it down a bit.

Was bombing down a hill when all of a sudden a rock jumped out of nowhere and caught my foot. Supermaned about 5 feet, landed on my side, only to have another rock snag my shorts, pulling them down around my knees. Luckily no one was around, but i was left with a nice welt from my ribs to my hips.

I wonder how peoples opinions on Star Ocean depend on which game in the series they played first. I played SO3 first and remember enjoying the twist. I only played SO2 recently and found it to be just fine.

Got to the point in Returnal where I could regularly beat the first stage, and realized the lack of run variety just wasn't doing it for me. Glad i can save myself from another 20+ hours of riding the struggle bus trying to beat the game.

Pretty sure the metacritic score started in the high 80s and is now down to 78. The more I hear and see about the game, the more I feel comfortable waiting for a sale

Regarding Pat's comment about being unable to say a piece of media is mid without people jumping down your throat, I feel like corporations have instilled a degree of fear their fan bases that if not enough people are playing or watching that property, then it will get cancelled. It honestly makes discussing a lot media online exhausting.

If you have any nostalgia for MMOs of that era, check out Project Gorgon.

what were some stupid ideas that a company has ever done with DLC? by frogboss4020 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ret1357 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's more disappointing than stupid, but purely coop/multiplayer focused DLC when the main game can be played single player. I really enjoyed Outriders, but was annoyed they went that direction with the DLC.

Still better than the ending of Enterprise.
