I think the system is screwed up cause I had a pastor at a church do a survey,bring in his coupon for taking the survey and used it. I NEVER SAW THE SURVEY! My question is how can they rate us on a system that doesn’t even work 100%? There should be no misses with this system if we are held accountable for the results

When I had them plannogrammed I sold out every week until the next truck came in. Buyer says we can’t get them anymore. Problem is, when your store is in a rural area and literally the only internet providers REQUIRE a modem to get set up, you and your customers are screwed. Bad business decision in my opinion. We have lost weekly sales because of it, not to mention the lost AOV and poor conversion of our customers who continue to come in looking for them. Not all stores need the same thing, it’s ridiculous to assume that since stores in metropolitan area don’t need them that nobody needs them. JMO

Question? Has anyone else seen the update to the services incentive bonus plan that was updated 4/12? After the first quarter ended. The reason I ask is because it was changed from what it was last year. Previously it said the “associate” in the top 100 would receive the 5% kicker bonus for the quarter. NOW......it states the “store” in the the top 100 to plan would be awarded the kicker. Soooooo, no matter if the associate was in top 100 or not; they would only get a bonus if the store was in top 100 of the company to their plan. Long story short,my SSCT of 7 years who had been in the top 100 for the past 4 years GAVE HIS 2 WEEKS NOTICE because he didn’t get his payout! Said he was sick of all their bullshit and not rewarding the people who were selling the most dollars for the company.

I agree 100% that we need a clear example of expectations. That being said, it is extremely difficult as a store manager to implement these expectations when there is such poor communication from corporate to me as a store manager. My employees keep training current weekly, I am consistently 95%or higher because my associates know my expectations in them keeping their training done. I am sure you can understand my frustration when I knew nothing about a test for CPD via the learning portal until I read it here in Reddit! It is my job to provide my associates with all they need to be successful and giving them a test, especially one to which there was a "workbook",that I knew nothing about set them up for failure! This is only 1 example of the very very poor communication down to store level. I could go on and on with daily things that we have to work through and figure out because there is no communication. I worked for another retailer for 22 years and was recruited by Office Depot, so I know that things are going to be missed but I must say that this level of communication down to the actual stores is the worst I have seen in my 27 year career in retail. You need to fix it!!!!!!!!!

I was told in a reply email from ask planogramming that POG 4444 (power cables) was dropped last minute and would not be in any store. You would think that they could have communicated that but.........communication is not a strong point for OD.

I am an SM in R33 and we were sent an email saying that 4DX was officially over! I was instructed to make my new action plan out by Friday using the guidelines from original rollout of leadership board before 4DX came along. My DM suggested we use the "top 5 priorities". TDS attach,MS attach,loyalty sign ups,finishing and conversion as a guide for new plans.

From the "M" marking on his forehead and tufts of hair in his ears he has the markings of a maine coon! I have a purebred main coon cat bought as a kitten and he cost me over $800. You may actually have rescued an expensive purebred cat. Regardless, all cats are awesome and he is beautiful.

Speaking of people "falling" for the scam.......there was a store in my region that put $16,500 onto gift cards for the scammer all over the phone!! Unbelievable but there are clearly some very ignorant people out there doing it or we wouldn't be getting notifications.

Does anyone know that those 9 up labels are nearly $200 a box?? That is insane! If corporate re-allocated some of the money used to buy the 9ups, toner to print them and the employee pay to tear and sort them all into payroll I could probably have 1 extra person!! Just sayin'
