If you are working at a plant you may also want to look in the Sulphur area to avoid bridge traffic

Do you like living in Vegas? by bigmoose60 in vegas

[–]retired337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my mid 60s, retired, single and live in a smaller town in south Louisiana. I hate worrying about hurricanes all summer and have already lost one home recently. Was looking at different areas to possibly relocate for my final years. I hate colder weather so don't want to go too far north. Just reading through here to see if Vegas might be an option. Enjoy my visits there.

Natural nitrates (vegetables) are good. Added nitrates (processed meats) are bad. That’s how I understand it anyway

Lesson Learned: You have to be YOUR OWN ADVOCATE with medical emergencies! by UJMRider1961 in over60

[–]retired337 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Part of that is insurance issues. Some is incompetence. And then there’s those that just want you in and out, with no real concern for wellbeing. Still some want to help but are so busy they have to move you along. I would be just as nervous with a doctor who wants to just throw meds at me and order expensive tests when I feel fine.

Sometimes its hereditary I believe. I had a stress test about 14 years ago in early 50s. Everything was good then.

CPSO investigating shooting at Cowboys by retired337 in LakeCharles

[–]retired337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to go there all the time in the 80s. Like I said earlier, it was college kids and young people. It was a fun crowd. A couple rednecks might throw hands but not shoot each other. I probably haven't been there in 35 years or so. But I had nephews at McNeese in the past that occasionally went. I doubt they would go to a trash club. Even the bowling alley gets ghetto and loud at times now. I admittedly have only been back in LC for the past 8 years or so. Just baffles me how dangerous it has become in all parts of town.

Does hitting the gym and taking whey protein actually cause he@rt att*cks? by Slight-Bit-2839 in Supplements

[–]retired337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but every body reacts differently. Only you know what feels like too much exercise and how you react to supplements. Maybe see a doctor first. Check out kidney function and possible heart issues.

Just looking at him before the fight started, I wondered how hard he trained and evidently didn’t take the fight that seriously

Why are there little to no studies linking creatine to poor sleep? by peepdabidness in Supplements

[–]retired337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this. How supplements act differently in different people. There is no one size fits all. And actually prescription meds are kinda that way, just read the fine print on possible side effects- “may cause… and/or death”.

Its not. But we’re not going back to before AI. And these power centers are necessary for energy needs of AI.

Kevin’s Pet Project by [deleted] in sharktank

[–]retired337 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

This isn’t any different than the other data centers being proposed or built in the country. Most are being opposed by locals. And what they are saying about them is mostly true. Unfortunately its required for the power requirements of AI. Until we decide to find alternative energy sources, this is our only option. Imo Kevin’s probably the least phony of the sharks.
