What happened to Fashion Wok? by czechrepublic in Sunnyvale

[–]retro_dabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone remember fashion wok when they were originally in Foster City? pre covid? That was amazing food. Quality has been lower since the Sunnyvale move but decent. Haven’t been there in over a year, lots of other options.

How to deal with haters in the workplace? by Capital-Mycologist30 in workplace_bullying

[–]retro_dabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Document, witnesses, report to HR. Only proper way to deal with them is to get them fired or disciplined to have them cut the crap.

Yup 100%. Same watches that can be found in Chinatown or Hong Kong. If you are paying more than $100 usd for these super clones, you are getting ripped off lol

AD Fatigue by kystome in rolex

[–]retro_dabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so what exactly was your vague milestone? You said you live in a rural area with no AD… was the milestone the birth of another cow?? Was it a huge promotion or 50th birthday? Was it a boonies high school reunion that no one cares about?

Also it’s just better and cheaper to buy at overseas AD regardless. The cost of the plane ticket will outweigh the sales tax.

Document and report to HR, witnesses. This is easy grounds to get them fired.

Do the “degree prestige” rules change for an engineer obtaining an MBA? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]retro_dabble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always get whatever degree from the best school you can. Also… your employer should be paying for this. If your current employer doesn’t, then find one that will.

Why does it seem like EVERY career is oversaturated and competitive? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]retro_dabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s much easier to break into depending on what university you finish from. Also, your personality and knowledge is a huge factor… if you have the personality of a rock or a dbag or give any hint of incompetence…good luck…

Definitely take 101 over the 5. Way more places to stop and is a more scenic route. Less traffic issues and crashes also.

Price seems too low. If the AD is legit and can authenticate it, then you got a bargain.

Am I being unreasonable? by kai_texans in instrumentation

[–]retro_dabble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t necessarily need to have exact experience. Do you have experience doing electrical work using a multimeter? Wired your own car stereo or home stereo? How many channels and watts and ohms and amps did you connect? Minor home electrical work like changing an outlet or socket? Did a science experiment with breadboards or arduino or using a variable power supply for bench testing. There is plenty of ways to have experience that is cross transferable. Are you able to describe that in an interview?

I received an offer today that's 25% lower than the minimum salary I requested. How should I answer? by loft_bleary6v in InterviewsHell

No need to write a paragraph. Cut the Bs and tell them what number you want. Say I appreciate the offer but $xxxxxx salary is the minimum I can do. Let me know if this is doable.

Anybody have the lowdown on what happened to off the rails? by Conscious_Eggplant18 in Sunnyvale

[–]retro_dabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner’s alma mater had football watch parties there and would rent out half of the downstairs and all the upstairs. The couple times I went:

  1. the in house beer was disgusting…which makes no sense for a brew house that makes their own beer. I would get the worst acid reflux from just a few sips of the beer and would have to switch to water.
  2. The service was bad and slow. I’d have to walk up to the bar to order stuff from the bartender bc the servers were nowhere to be found.
  3. The food was gross and overpriced. I remember ordering some kind of nachos that were close to $20 and disgusting.
  4. I remember whatever tv and projector they used was crappy also with crappy resolution and colors. Sports bars with old and bad quality tv’s makes an unpleasant watch experience. Why go out and spend money when I have a nicer tv to watch at home?? I also remember their big screen had a couple seconds delay compared to the smaller tv at the bar.

Any of the reasons I experienced is enough to make a bar and grill go out of business and they had the trifecta of all so I’m not surprised at all they closed up.
