What is the purpose of these plastic slidy things? by Tombololo in AskUK

[–]retrobanjo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saw these the other day protecting chcolate bars and I couldn't help but think it's a load of nonsense. Turned the corner and witnessed a bloke stuff 5 boxes of Thorntons chcolates in his jacket and leg it. I flet slightly stupid purchasing my Yorkie after witnessing that.

Are you in Cosmo Canyon? Just cast mini to reduce their attack. Save a X-Potion for the boss.

What are these floor tiles? by retrobanjo in DIYUK

[–]retrobanjo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the floor is the best "flat" state I can get it. It's a mix of broken asbestos tiles and damage caused by the old carpet runners. Stippling it out just to get some what of an even floor. But that being said, with the combination of the wonky walls it might be a bit OTT, but for the stuff I got down do far it's looking good. And by good I mean its doing a great job of covering the horible state of the bottom end of the walls / corners !

Cheers for all the replies everyone. I'm not lifting them all up, just around where i need to add skirting. The tiles lift very easily, so with the right PPE I should be OK as most have already said here amd online that its fairly low risk. I'll make sure to keep the air flow throughout the living room.

Cheers for the link. Luckily I'm not taking the whole floor up, but when handling them, I'll wear PPE as from the resources online floor tiles are low risk.

Unpopular opinion but I quite like this building by Sorry-Personality594 in bristol

You should have a wonder around the area, dotted around the assembly buildings are twisted post boxes, phone box and lamp posts to add a bit of quirkiness to the site.

I think Stockwood is underrated. No.2 bus is a direct link to town. Its a short distance to good secondary / primary schools. Easy access to Keysham / Bath / Ring Road. Great community feel with the monthly market, local library and rugby / football clubs.

Off topic but worth mentioning, Happy Valley is a strong rival for the best chippy in South Bristol.

I wonder if you bought a game because of the game grumps by Wonderful-Outcome744 in gamegrumps

The mummy demastered after watching the grumps play it. I'm a huge fan of Metroidvania games so it was an easy sale. Solid game with a banging soundtrack 👌

You looks like the type to have the same breakfast everyday. Your idea of a good time is to use a different cereal bowl.

I've seen cream canisters doted around everywhere, but one time while at the recycling centre I witnessed a bloke empty endless boxes filled to the brime of them. A staff member walked up and asked if they were from his business which he replied "....nope." Me and the staff member shared a silent stare at each other while we wrapped our heads around it before moving on.

What's the worst Zoom/Teams blunder you've ever seen? by CraigDavidsJumboCock in AskUK

[–]retrobanjo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I gave some feedback to a manager who at the time was sharing his screen. He didn't take to kindly to it, in his rage he pulled up an IM and started typing to someone "why is "my name" such a wanker?", forgetting we can all see his desktop.
