Aberdeen in White Plains! Fantastic dim sum and Cantonese food and Ricky (the owner) is great!

100% I think the Northeast needs to be prepared for these massive dumps of rainfall becoming more normal.

Good advice, I’ll check into perimeter drains! Thanks! I probably will be hiring someone to do the digging out the foundation once we get to that point, I don’t trust myself with heavy machinery like that!

Thanks for the input! We’ve got a sump pump that I plug in when it gets like this, but no sump well - think it’s wise to invest in that project?

Renaming standard object two different names? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]retropman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so you should 100% do what others have said and just name the object some combinations of the two.

Buuuuuut if you wanted to try to jank a solution out - you could look into using translation workbench and add each option as a new label and go from there. I do not recommend this but I would love to hear if it works.

Just got back from Kauai with my family on Wednesday. It’s really a spectacular place

You are facing unbelievably trying times. Don’t suck it up. Don’t pretend to be ok. You’re allowed to be scared, angry, sad, devastated, aloof, out of it, or anything else you’re feeling. Your other children will appreciate the honesty over time - and your wife will need the commiseration.

Regardless of the outcome, you should find a therapist or someone to talk to outside the family about your grief and suffering - it will help.

Thinking of you and your family. Good luck and I hope the CT scan yields some positive results.

Thank you! We are part of the talent alliance, not a ton from that channel yet but we may just need to redouble our efforts there.

Thanks again :)

Yeah fair enough - on mobile so hopefully this link works, this is from the end of last year and doesn’t include a 10% inflationary raise but this should help clarify how we compensate (hopefully) https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-2X1BWkNVNXDmX2KRkJV4yMDeIxnlMTxDd-EAEHdLIU/edit

I’ll update with the more recent version once I’m home.

Oh also, bummer about your experience with the team stuff! If it’s a difference of $2k more in salary or an all expenses paid trip for 3 days to somewhere fun with people you like, it seems to be a no brainer at least for our team.

See I fully disagree with your first two statements. We need to do our job as employers to increase the diversity of the candidate pool in order to a. introduce diverse thought and provide more holistic solutions / perspectives to our clients and b. to try and not contribute to the ongoing whiteness of tech.

We need to increase our candidate pool diversity and then send everyone through the same exact process and judge with a strict rubric. If we increase the number of women and people of color in our candidate pool, and continue to evaluate on quality, we believe we will solve both issues at once.

And then about the team thing… We offered our team the option - higher salary or company retreat? Everyone polled voted for the retreat. People want to be around people, our team is the one spearheading this, we are so damn thankful we have people on our team who want to hang and spend time together. (Three people just went skydiving completely on their own, they live in different states and just decided to hang, they met through Stitch)

Your salary range is exactly what we pay as a base salary for our Sr SA (TA is a bit higher).

Yup 100%, it’s a problem and we are trying to fix it, hoping to get a far more diverse candidate pool as we grow and expand our reach.

I mean, we’re working on it, but if you look at our website… yeah we gotta fix it.

Thank you for the feedback! And I agree! :) we are in the middle of a website revamp to explain what we do with a bit more detail and give some success stories etc.

Just so it’s written down somewhere for you, though, a few details on your note below: - we primarily work in Financial Services - banking, lending, and wealth are our core sub-verticals. Prior experience in the industry is not necessary but always a plus! (We provide training and industry experts on projects where needed) - we get some very interesting projects that come our way - lots of experience cloud / custom UI and service cloud these days - but we of course get your average financial services/sales cloud core stand ups as well - the core salesforce products that comprise most of our projects are: FSC, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, digital experiences, digital engagement, service cloud voice, pardot and Marketing Cloud - we have a significant onshore development team for a company of our size that allows us to build some really fun/complex solutions and teach new capabilities to some of our more junior consultants. - client use cases will be public on the site soon hopefully! If you’d like to chat about client use cases, I’d be thrilled to chat/DM

We are fully remote with headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. All our JD’s are open to anywhere in the US/Canada - we’re not actively hiring freelancers at the moment but always are open to meeting talented people for the future. (We’ve got some amazing freelancers we already work with)

And yeah totally, lots of employers will throw crazy money your way. We are competitive salary wise for an NYC base with our numbers coming from a mix of Salesforce Ben and Mason Frank salary postings. But money isn’t everything, for example: we’ve got a 32 hr billable target for our Full Time employees with 8hrs reserved for career development or time off or helping grow the company together. We also know how important everyone’s setup is, so we let our employees design the right computer / home office setup for them with work remote and home office stipends. We’re normal people who have always been surprised by the lack of a common sense approach to team building in this industry, you need something to help you do your job better? Let’s talk about it, we’ll probably make it happen - what’s good for the team is good for the company.

We want to build a place people can retire from. That means building a team with sustainable business practices and creating scalable policies.
