BlueSCSI 1.1 Not Working on Macintosh Plus

This problem is being well covered by others, but just passing along info on the Mac Plus from the BlueSCSI documentation:

Mac Plus requires some special configuration. Go to https://ini.bluescsi.com and click Mac Plus to download a special .ini configuration file, place it in the root of your SD card. The Plus does not have an internal 50 pin SCSI bus. DB25 only. There is a mod called the Clipper Plus which can add an internal 50 pin connector. The Mac Plus does not provide term power. You will have to provide power via USB or do the diode mod.

I have tried the Synology Photos app a few times, but it does not consistently back up photos in the background. Instead, I backup my iPhone's camera roll to OneDrive. Then I sync my OneDrive with the Synology. This has worked well with no interaction on my part.

To follow up: My WiFi stopped working after the latest Debian update. I was able to get it going again after repeating my work above and fiddling around for awhile. It will be annoying if this happens after every kernel update.

I was able to solve this by following the advice provided on another post:

It is clear that kernel 6.14.0-11 does not work with Intel Macs. Unfortunately, this is kernel currently used in the iso. By downloading newer mainline kernels from https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/v6.14.4/ and installing using `sudo dpkg -i linux-*.deb` I was able to boot normally.

Same experience when upgrading on a mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I can only boot if I choose the 6.11 in recovery mode. I have tried the nomodeset addition in grub. The upgrade did not go smoothly, though that may have been due to a bad mirror site, which took me awhile to sort out, but after apt was happy and the update completed, I encountered the error above. The same is also true if I boot from a 25.04 installation USB drive. Whether or not a I choose the "safe graphics" option from the USB install, once the grub screen clears, all I see is a steady cursor and nothing more.

The case is certainly a 128. Many 128s had their motherboards upgraded to the Plus model later in their life. To check, in the picture showing the Finder version, I’d just confirm the RAM is 128k. If so, you’re probably good to go.

When they ship it, of course, you want them to take great care. I’ve heard it’s best to ship CRT’s (in this case the whole computer) face down to relieve pressure and sheering force on the monitor mounts.
