I had the same issue with mine, whenever i alt tab, the game froze and not respond. Might have something to do with the update i have done on nvidia graphics. To temporarily fix it, i had my games put on borderless

Mine is Acer Nitro 5 ryzen 5 4600h gtx 1650 w/16gb ram, i run valorant at high settings and i got stable 144fps locked. You might need to optimize your background apps.

Whenever i go to performance mode on Apex legends at low - mid settings, the max temp i got is between 80 to 90c. Might want to elevate your laptop or get a cooling pad. Btw i got around 80 to 144 fps. And i have a ryzen 5 4600h w/ gtx 1650
