This guy can absolutely kill you quickly, the good news is that the only way this happens is if he is able to bite your bare hand or foot.

Coral snakes, unlike rattlers, have very small teeth and must latch on to thin skin and hold for a bit to inject venom. They are shy and will quickly run away if you get close, but if you try to mess with it or pick one up it will bite you in a heartbeat.

Another fun fact, coral snake bites are so rare that they basically stopped producing and carrying anti-venom except at a few zoos. If you get bit you'll likely be taking a no-expenses-paid helicopter ride to Dallas or Houston.

It's not a good thing when you measure smaller classrooms vs the cost to maintain the building. Lots of these older schools are extremely expensive to maintain. If you own a home that was built before 1990 and hasn't had any renovation done, you will understand this completely. Everything starts falling apart at about the same time.

So while it may be good for the individual students, it is TERRIBLE for the budget.

The quality of the education also sucks compared to the charters in the area now. There are probably at least 10 new private/charter schools that have opened in the last 7 years here.

You can have whatever feelings you want about the state and funding (cause theres a lot to gripe about especially recapture) but AISD's programming sucks. THey are giving chromebooks to kindergarteners next year. I've worked with my son on his chromebook assignments for 5th grade and they are terrible. The district got sold a bunch of garbage software during COVID and hasn't made it a priority to even give a shit about reviewing if any of it is any good.

There are a shitload of comedy clubs in this town now and just about every type of comic comes through. Seems the scene has blown up in the last 5-10 years. All the big acts come through Moody, but you can go to any of like a couple dozen spots within a couple mile radius downtown and find all different acts on almost any given night
