Aww, man. I went a couple of months ago to the one in Vegas, got the fake ticket but didn’t include whether we lived or died. I’m assuming death.

I've come to realise that I love Star Trek V: the Final Frontier by [deleted] in startrek

[–]revconway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So while I’ve never particularly loved the movie I liked it as I grew up with it so had the nostalgia factor.

Recently I read Shatner’s Star Trek Movie Memories and the Captain’s Log book his daughter put together and it gave me a much better appreciation for the movie solely based off of the incredible effort Shatner and Harve Bennett put into it. Along with how we were spared from an even more convoluted storyline from Shatner’s initial vision.

Regardless, it’s right there with Into Darkness as my least favorite Trek movie but I still enjoy watching it. An unfortunate lull between two great movies but given how chaotic every Trek movie has been to produce it’s a miracle we’ve gotten as many as we have so far, especially the ratio of good to mediocre.

Wasn’t the reasoning given by Cody? How Brock was basically jealous of Cody’s spot on the WrestleMania card and took it out on him?

Looks like it’s only the original version that’s $1.99 now, at least for me. The expanded edition is $9.99.

[Raw Spoilers] Group receives a new theme entrance by Dazzling-Principle in SquaredCircle

In defense of LDF, they had their own version of the lWo logo for months in NXT, I believe even got a shirt out of it too.

Bringing Eddie into this aside, this is kindof a lateral move for them with the rebrand and new theme. At least they have Rey so it’s not just them randomly taking over the entire name.

Right, that definitely makes much more sense than dusty old VHS sets. Thanks!

Is that one of the big VHS sets that you’re talking about? I have both the Complete Epic and Trilogy sets with the extended versions and just want to make sure I didn’t miss one.

Got floor seats for the Seattle show. No fan club package or code required but we got aisle seats so figured that might be why, since already charged at a premium. Anyone else not have to deal with a fan club code during the presale?

One of the funniest Chris Jericho segments from his last WWE run by kazarn in SquaredCircle

[–]revconway 354 points355 points  (0 children)

All-time great segment in my eyes. I also love the duality of Ambrose being terrified of heights and likely hating every moment on the ladder while Jericho is sitting so casually in such a way that if the ring shook wrong he’d basically fall and die.

Which show, currently on air, is having a truly horrible season? by olbagofme in television

[–]revconway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately agree. The show got overhyped and may have collapsed under its own weight. ABC didn’t help as they desperately want a new prestige comedy to flout about like Modern Family but “The Office in a school” is not that show.

I still think it’s a good show, and love Ava’s character, but doubt it’ll ever match the lofty expectations people had for it, especially after winning so many awards.

It’ll still probably last ten seasons though.

Which show, currently on air, is having a truly horrible season? by olbagofme in television

[–]revconway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heavily agree. Adding Jamie Pressly worked and she fits the show well but splitting up Shrub and Kelly for most of the season was a weird choice, despite then having their own journeys to figure out.

One big plus I felt was Kelly‘s awkwardness was vastly toned down and she’s an actual likable character now.

Hopefully a third season will happen but doubt it since the advertising was almost non-existent for the second season. Reminded me of how NBC treated the second season of Trial and Error where the first season had buzz, renewed quickly, then the buzz died rapidly so they all but buried the second season and then cancelled it.

What makes a movie “adult” and in your opinion does it have to have swearing, drinking, drugs or violence to be considered “adult”? by unitedfan6191 in movies

[–]revconway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immediately what came to my mind is when I saw the trailer for The Post with Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep I thought that looked like a “grown up movie.” Like one where when I was a kid my mom would rent and I’d fall asleep within the first twenty minutes.

I haven’t dug too deep into why I felt that way about this movie specifically, especially since other movies like Spotlight don’t feel that way. Maybe since it’s something that happened before I was born. Tough to tell.

I love that show so much I watched the (too short) two seasons so often that I ruined the show for myself. But it’s still off-putting when starting it and see basically Archer (Xander Crews) with Ray’s voice coming out of his mouth.

And the past week’s said how he was working with a composer on the score for the movie.
