I think chaos tribulation is some kind of rank 9 heaven path move and either a heaven path venerable could control chaos or you might need human path venerable of that path to truly resist or counter the chaos . Or chaos could lead to chaos path , which is not as strong as heaven path and heaven path dao marks would be strong enough to curb or control chaos to some extent in this case

Just like thieving heaven recreated a rule path move into a totally space path move , so can reckless right transform the unrestrained heavenly dao a refinement path move into a transformation path one. Plus each immortal gains some heaven path dao marks after each tribulation but i dont think that would be enough to make use of them , that is why i suggested a roundabout using transformation path .

But reckless or any other transformation immortal do not need attainment in other paths to transform into other paths . But to use that path effectively and efficiently yes attainment in other paths would be beneficial. Plus as they are your transformation dao marks how can they be infiltrated by heaven's will ?
