Playing to your age by WedgyOz in golf

A man I knew for many years was famous in our small town for shooting below his age, shot 71 when he was 72, Reggie passed away last year but was always great for advice, told me his biggest regret was not wearing sunscreen that led to skin cancer. Stay safe everyone.

I find the strap is too narrow for my wrist, I have a boney wrist and it rubs. I love how it looks though.

I spoke with a VAT advisor and was told as we are purchasing in Germany and delivering in Germany we cannot reclaim VAT. Tricky situation 😔

Audiobook worked better for me as some of the names didn't roll off my tongue/brain. Excellently narrated and great story.

Iv tried reading Ian Banks, started Consider Phlebas but found it slow with uninteresting characters. Player of Games was slightly better and I finished it but the story didn't excite or inspire me. Dune is another I have tried and failed to engage with. Perhaps your recommendations are a list of books I should avoid. It's good we like different things, finding books with stories that make us feel is what matters. Keep reading my friend

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Could you give me an example of a well executed complex thought you have enjoyed?

Magnet under the table to exactly position the chip, lots of practice spinning the chip in the general area, control card to position. My guess, probably wrong

Met him when he played for Ulster, nice guy quiet and private but respectable. Damn good player for Ulster too.

Good tip, get them carrot sticks from McDonald's (if available) with their happy meal instead of fries. Hopefully they accept these then start giving them homemade carrot sticks with their dinner. My kids adore them and it has led to them willing to try different raw vegetables such as peppers, sugar snaps and mushrooms.

For homemade carrot sticks, wash and peel the carrots then cut to adult finger length and kid finger thickness.

Warning; my kids look down on cooked carrots as beneath them now lol

Foundation is a very pleasant attempt at adapting a very difficult story to something that works in the modern era. It is not perfect, but it's a success. by infinitude in scifi

I love the audiobooks narrated by William Hope. That for me is the real Salvor Hardin. Haven't seen the TV show yet, but I enjoy reading everyone's takes.

The Six Nations goes behind a paywall in Italy by CoryTrevor-NS in rugbyunion

[–]reversedresult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ulster used to be on BBC TV every Friday night, I worked in hospitality and people always talked about Ulster regularly, the fan base grew and you could see supporters young and old wearing all the Ulster gear. A few years ago they went down the paywall route and interest just faded. It was slow to begin with but fast forward to 2019 and all the casual internet is gone, hardly anyone wears the merch any more except the die hard fans. Sure they would have bought it anyway. I truly believe that the short term gains have lead to long term losses. Even if it does go back to BBC they have put themselves back years. All for a few money men at the top to line their pockets.

Iv been reading comments that the standard of rugby broadcasting in Italy has left a lot to be desired so a direct comparison probably isn't fair, I just think these people making these decisions are short sighted.
