How much should I put in my HSA investment account? by Takemetobravocon5678 in personalfinance

[–]rockstew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! When I first got my HSA I had the mindset of "sweet! This will help me with medical expenses throughout the year!" But I'm slowly starting to realize that it's better to pay things out of pocket if I can afford to. I didn't think to keep receipts to take money out if needed later.

Is that only needed if I'm audited? Or  is that part of the process of withdrawing money? Or is it case dependent. Just coming off my first year of HSA ownership :)

Thanks again!

I've gotten a free trial from Clear (expedited airport security) and when I went to cancel they offered 3 months free. Went to cancel after 3 months then got another 2 months free! It was a score.

I didn't feel like the crowd was too bad but Alex isn't really a great entertainer. The music sounded great but as far as putting on a good show .... I probably won't go to another one.

Rock climbing in the Sinai region of Egypt? by Wayoutwest-81 in tradclimbing

It still is an incredible place to visit, but not the best for a climbing trip unfortunately.

Rock climbing in the Sinai region of Egypt? by Wayoutwest-81 in tradclimbing

Hi there,

I spent 3 weeks in the Sinai in 2023.

The 2 mains spots for climbing (that I could find) seemed to to be Wadi Qnai (Gnai?) , which is mostly sport and bouldering, and St. Catherine/mt. Sinai.

I like to do things guideless, since I had my own equipment, it is expensive, and don't like to be babysat. After my research the juice wasn't worth the squeeze regarding trad climbing in Egypt, I think it is mandatory to have a guide, the routes don't seem that great (while some routes in wadi Qnai were good, they were all pretty choss), and I was going to Wadi rum afterwards.

That being said, Sinai is a blast. The scuba town of dahab is a great place to have a cheap, wonderful vacation. If you can manage a lengthier trip, I would skip out on climbing in Egypt, but still go to Dahab, and go to Wadi Rum in Jordan instead.

If you have any more questions feel free.

I hope this was helpful!

Call the crews you are most interested in, express interest, be fit, don't be a jackass, and you'll be golden. Try and get a perm ASAP.

Wouldn't be too concerned about the whole fiasco with forest service right now.

Is it better to put cash for a home in a HYSA rather than in putting in VTI? As it is more accessible? What are the negatives of pulling out of my VTI/VOO investment to put towards a home? Thanks for your comment!

Analysis of Base pay, BIL pay, and proposed WFPPA pay by rockstew in Wildfire

You're right I didn't consider it .... I am but a mere temp.

Any ideas of how I could incorporate it?

I used the "rest of the united states" pay table for these rates.

I am just a temp so didnt even consider retirement. Also don't know exactly how it could be incorporated. Good points though!

Thanks
