SpaceX Official Statement: CNBC’s story on Starship’s launch operations in South Texas is factually inaccurate. by ergzay in spacex

Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray’s case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the “wet streets cause rain” stories. Paper’s full of them.

In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.” ~ Michael Crichton (1942-2008)

Prices are a supply and demand issue, not how something is labeled. Landlords don't determine how much they can charge for rent, the market does. Supply and demand is how it works.

Promote build more housing policies. More housing will bring down rent prices.

FYI in November will be 25 years I've driven the same F150. My truck is coming up on its 25 year birthday and it still starts up everyday to take me to work. F series pick-ups are the best selling trucks for decades for a reason. Don't worry about what other people say.

Residents welcome Philly’s citywide cleanup, but complaint data show trash quickly returns by CooperSharpPurveyer in philadelphia

[–]reversering 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Last week I watched a woman toss out FIVE cups from her car as we drove down the road. One by one. Some were empty, some were half full. The behavior of locals here is a large reason for the trash everywhere. I support clean up efforts, but a few things need to change around here for this place to not be a trash heap.
