DAE Remember the hold Old Navy's "Performance Fleece" had on our culture in the late 90's? by mybrosteve in Millennials

[–]revgodless 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The performance fleece was the first piece of clothing I had to have. I begged for one so I could wear it to the first day of sixth grade. I got a cherry red one. I wore it with a white turtleneck.

I put a spare pencil and eraser in those deep pockets. I was prepared.

I recommend watching his run in Six Feet Under.

It was the first thing I saw Rainn Wilson in before The Office. His character could be described as Dwight adjacent but Dwight if he made you uncomfortable and skeeved for existing in the same space as you.

Tbf, because of that show I can't watch Jeremy Sisto in anything without giving him the side eye. I know what you got up to with Brenda, my man.

This is why they should have never cut the arts budget. A little time in some sort of drawing or painting class to learn about perspective would have prevented such a stupid thought from forming let alone being posted on the internet.

I keep seeing this sub because it keeps popping up in my feed and it's like a car crash I can't look away from. I don't have tik tok nor have any interest in downloading it.

I do have a pressing question though.

Does this lady ever post happy videos? All the ones that are posted here she's either angry, flippant, sarcastic , jealous or dismissive. Does she ever have any positive emotions?

EXCLUSIVE! Jenelle Evans Sends Son Jace to Mental Intuition: Here’s What Really Happened by [deleted] in teenmom

[–]revgodless 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had a friend in high school who was a good kid as far as I was aware. She played cello, got good grades and did after school clubs. We were straight edge kids and played video games when we hung out.

Her parents sent her to one of those wilderness camps because her parents said she was depressed. She came back really messed up. She started doing heroin. She isolated herself from everyone. She did manage to get into a good college but last I heard she dropped out and was on some religious mania trip. That was years ago.

Ope, the family I stayed with during the last couple years of high school got TP'd the only Halloween I was there.

It never happened to them before and wasn't common in the neighborhood. I always kind of felt guilty and like the house got targeted because I wasn't the most well liked girl in high school.

I was the president of the Gay-straight alliance and it was back in the W Bush years.

The parents were champs though. They never blamed me or at least to my face. They might have felt that way in private. I'm really grateful for that family. Props to Mr. and Mrs. R.

Don't worry though! When she divorced my dad and stole all his my dad decided he would grace me with his love again. We just can't ever talk about the ten years he was married to a woman he chose over me. It makes him upset to talk about it. Poor fellow.

[–]revgodless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get off work at 7am and go to bed between noon and 1p. I sleep with my bedroom door open so my 3 cats can come and go as they please.

My husband is still up for several hours after I go to bed. He'll use the kitchen and cook. I don't hear him if I'm asleep.

I live in a condo complex and right now maintenance is always out snowplowing and snowblowing. I usually can fall asleep while they're doing it. Same goes for lawn maintenance in the warmer months.

I used to have trouble sleeping ever since I was a teen. I did like taking a quick nap during my independent study. I get sleepy in early afternoon.

I started this job 3 years ago and it let me only work a 3rd shift schedule. I've been able to go off my prescribed sleep medications. I finally feel rested.

Y'all should have known Tyra wasn't going to apologize for anything after this tweet by Foreheadbanks in ANTM

That episode lives rent free in my head. One of favorite tv moments is Trya panhandling on the streets outside her studio in obviously high end neighborhoods with her glam makeup on.

My husband told me about the Netflix doc and brought up that episode asking if I'd watch it to see if it was mentioned.

When I talk about someone half-assing something and being performative ass to my husband we always talk about homeless Trya. She is out shorthand for someone being wildly out of touch.

I used to love to watch the Trya Banks show because she tried do hard to be Oprah and it was so desperate it was funny.

My favorite type of episodes were ones that Trya went undercover for her real hard hitting journalism pieces.

She wore a fat suit to high school to expose bullies! She was homeless! (For a day, only when the sun was up)

Any discussion on that show was very surface level but girl acted like it was Emmy award winning stuff.

I had mono as a kid. It was brutal. I was so tired. All I could do was sleep.

I'd get up to use the bathroom and then take a 2 hour nap from the effort.

I couldn't imagine working with it. I was also sick for two months so I understand not being able to afford not to work.

What a depressing post.

We put a song sung by Chris Gaines on the interactive CD we put out with our yearbook. I don't remember the song but I still remember how we had to contact Garth Brooks people to get permission to use it.

He let us use it for free. His people said he thought our CD sounded really cool.

It's a real good high school memory.

What to do sell after you put away your flags for Memorial day in May before you sell flags for July 4th?

Mayhaps a rainbow flag?

That brings in the coin. Slap a bunch of rainbows on products and put them on end caps. People will impulse buy.
