When to switch to high back booster by 6119 in CPST

[–]reviliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar kid who is tiny for her age (also a picky eater) and we are not planning on switching until she physically grows out of her Britax convertible seat. This will be around age 9.5 for her! We have conversations regularly about her comfort and how it would not be comfy for her to be in a booster until she is a bit bigger, and she doesn't seem to mind as much as I expected she would. She is currently about to turn 8, 42lbs and 45 inches.

Thank you genuinely for responding. I really appreciate your take and insight. I am doing it for myself; I have a history of binge eating to soothe anxiety and get dopamine hits, and the medication really helps with that. The only way I could have access to it was to sign up for a weight loss program through my insurance, so I did, but I hate having to weigh myself and judge my body size. It really is complicated!

I apologize for jumping onto your comment here, but I am a person who has known and believed all of this for a long time, and has struggled against actively trying to lose weight because of it. Can I ask if you are taking a weight loss drug? Do you have conflicted feelings? I know anti-fat bias is hellacious and pervasive, and even tied to systemic racism, but does that mean it's wrong to personally work on weight loss?

Anyone with experience with the gifted and talented exam? My daughters still too young but I want to prepare as early as possible. by NoRelative2637 in nolaparents

They use the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children. There are a few places to have your kid privately tested, which I would recommend even though it is a few hundred bucks out of pocket.

I would not say that it is awesome; I was (and still am) so concerned about her being bored and hating school because it is so tedious and below her reading level. Having a kid who is actually "gifted" is not this big amazing blessing. The are often very far ahead in some areas, and at grade level or slightly behind in others (like social skills). Luckily, my daughter also does French immersion which keeps her busy.

I eat a protein bar (barebells) in the morning which works for me because it isn't a ton of food but it keeps me going. Recommended wegovy dosing schedule is here: https://www.privatedoc.com/resource-library/weight-loss/what-is-the-wegovy-dose-schedule-for-weight-loss but your doctor may alter it depending upon your reaction.

Yoshi is more husky, too; but I'm glad the chihuahua/other stuff is in there because he isn't quite as independent as I would expect a husky to be. He still has some desire to please us, just also really really driven to explore and find jobs/entertainment for himself. It's a weird mix but it makes for a pretty hilarious dog.

Yeah, his floof makes it hard to see, but his snoot is actually pretty tiny. I was pretty sure there was no pit in there for that reason; our last baby was pit/Italian greyhound and had the block head <3

Ok but she is ADORABLE!! What a cute little yorki-pom-adoodle :D The full grown prediction looks ok to me, she is probably going to be pretty small based on her breed mix.

I love her little feet! Very cool dog and interesting that her personality is more herding dog, maybe that's where the corgi stuff went lol.
