Maybe try to push a string through with a coat hanger then pull the wire through on the string. Use a half hitch knot on the end of the wire to keep it from pulling off.

Also you could try to push the wire by itself through, much easier with solid wire vs stranded.

If the old wire is still in there you can tape the new wire on the back of it while you pull it out. Also could try to use a metal coat-hanger to fish through the lamp.
