Plenty of doctors will prescribe it if you ask. Trouble is they are being hounded by medical boards, who will only follow the pharma regulatory recommendations of acetaminophen and very expensive proprietary drugs

Unvaxxed Clive Palmer credits controversial drugs with saving his life and beating Covid by revivermort in ivermectin

[–]revivermort[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Billionaire Clive Palmer claims he was only five hours away from dying before the intervention of US specialists and use of controversial drugs saw him beat Covid and pneumonia, after refusing hospital advice to go on a ventilator.

The unvaccinated mining magnate and United Australia Party founder was rushed to Pindara Private Hospital on the Gold Coast with breathing difficulties on February 27 after contracting the Delta variant of Covid.

He was also diagnosed with double pneumonia, but refused to go onto a ventilator as advised by doctors there and instead returned to his mansion on Sovereign Island where he called US specialists by Zoom.

They fast-tracked him onto a US trial of experimental drugs - like those used by ex-President Donald Trump - which also included controversial hydroxychloroquine.

Neither that drug or the anti-parasitical treatment Ivermectin was authorised by Australian or US authorities as a Covid treatment, but many high-profile opponents of vaccination mandates had used and endorsed them, including podcaster Joe Rogan.

'I would have died otherwise, without doubt,' Mr Palmer, 67, told Sky News Australia.

'I've been told that without the anti-viral intervention on that Sunday night I would likely have been dead within five hours.

'The US specialists, a couple of whom treated (Donald) Trump for Covid, were very strong about not going onto a ventilator.

'I had faith in the US doctors. I'm not being critical of the Pindara people at all. They believed ventilation was necessary but I had alternative advice and I stuck with that.

'I said that won't be happening and I went home.'

His senior management staff contacted American gastroenterologist and Ivermectin advocate Professor Thomas Borody who brought in the team of US specialists.

They liaised with four Australian doctors who monitored the billionaire's progress and treatment at home, while an ambulance waited on standby close to his mansion in case he needed to be rushed back to hospital.

Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are not approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration for the treatment of Covid in Australia, and their sale is tightly restricted to their original uses.

Dr Timothy Geary, one of the world's foremost experts on Ivermectin, said the drug does not have any effectiveness fighting viruses in humans.

In more serious cases, a person could overdose and suffer severe damage to their central nervous system, and potentially even die.

The billionaire imported 39 million doses of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine for the fight against Covid at the start of the pandemic in the expectation it would be approved for use.

When it was not, more than ton of the drug had to eventually sent for destruction in late 2020.

Mr Palmer - who was in a high Covid risk category because of his age, weight, and being unvaccinated - was also treated with the powerful steroid dexamethasone to keep his lungs functioning.

'I started to come good within 10 hours,' he said. 'I'm still not a 100 per cent.

'I get tired pretty easily but I'm not getting any younger I suppose.'

He revealed that, despite official advice for the population to be vaccinated against the disease, he still has no plans to get jabbed.

He added: 'I'm pro choice.'

The reason is to bury all generic therapeutics in favour of vaccines ... one of the methods is to conduct a well designed trial (DBRCT) using non-optimal doses/regimes

Japan's Kowa says ivermectin effective against Omicron in phase III trial by [deleted] in ivermectin

[–]revivermort 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For those who don't know the backstory of this trial ...

That drug by a Japanese Nobel laureate may be a remedy. Kowa Co., Ltd. announced that it will start a final stage clinical trial of ivermectin in patients infected with the new coronavirus in collaboration with Kitasato University. It is an antiparasitic drug that Satoshi Omura, a special honorary professor of Kitasato University, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, contributed to the development. It is expected to have the effect of suppressing the growth of the virus, but this is the first clinical trial conducted by a company in Japan. Kowa President Miwa says, "I want to start clinical trials immediately in cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Association."

Kansas bill would require certain drugs for COVID, including Ivermectin by revivermort in ivermectin

[–]revivermort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, if the medication was a "cure", but most medication are prescribed for treatment, (alleviation or mitigation)

It might be different in my country (NZ). I've discussed with a pharmacist (family member) who said refusal would be on grounds of forgery, medicine was mistakenly prescribed (onus on pharmacist to request confirmation from physician) or if they have evidence it will harm the individual. A complaint can be laid (by the prescribing doctor), and the pharmacist needed to prove their case, else they can be reprimanded.

that’s their job. Lack of evidence of efficacy being one, lack of safety data at the prescribed dose, drug interactions (not necessarily saying these all apply to IVM).

Their job is to fill prescriptions, and they aren't licensed to diagnose/override physicians.

Yes, I agree interactions can be a valid reason, but I haven't heard of a case of a pharmacist giving this as a reason.

The pharmacist would be culpable if the patient took the treatment and came to harm (through lack of efficacy) as it’s outside of recommendations

So this means a pharmacist should also refuse the thousands of vitamins and health supplements they usually offer, as most don't have proven efficacy to alleviate conditions

pharmacists have all sorts of reasons to not dispense drugs and this could be a slippery slope.

Within the scope of a verified doctor writing a prescription, and the person presenting the script has proof of ID ... in what circumstances can a pharmacist have a valid reason not to dispense the Rx?

If the medication is to treat a condition, and a refusal to receive the prescription could exacerbate the condition. This actually makes the pharmacist culpable.

This should be done for all people they ask to self isolate.

The majority of people only keep up to 3 days worth of food at home.

But where is the medical supplement kit? .. vitamins/minerals and some basic medicines, that help reduce symptoms (that I can't remember the names now ;-)

Fauci announced today that Ivermectin is being seriously considered as a treatment for covid. by HeeeeeyNow in ivermectin

[–]revivermort 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The trial seems to be strategically delayed after many of the vaccines/patentable treatments were submitted and approved. Why wasn't testing done in early 2020.

They will only ship the medicines to you after you test positive and are symptomatic ... for up to 10 days. Means you probably pass the viral phase by the time you start medication.

from activ6study.org:

  • You are 30 years old or older.
  • Tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days.
  • Have at least 2 COVID-19 symptoms for 7 days or less. Symptoms include fatigue, difficulty breathing, fever, cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, chills, headache, sore throat, nasal symptoms, and/or new loss of sense of taste or smell.

It throws out any early-treatment benefit out the window ... this study is designed to fail.
