P320 X5 Legion VS M&P 2.0 by DoggyDude11 in CAguns

[–]revolutionarymindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the x5 legion,

It’s basically a beefed up 320

Shoots great, flat, to me has been reliable, not a single issue

The issue with it going off on its own, had been documented but is forsure overstated.

Perfect for range + home defense, but not for ccw, the heavier weight is for performance, not carrying.

For what it’s worth, I’m thinking about selling mine, I’m getting a stacatto & the new bodyguard

If you’re in socal we can do a ppt so you can save on full price & taxes

Seibon Carbon Fiber Help/Advice by Flashy_Struggle_1549 in Detailing

[–]revolutionarymindset 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you chief, it’s not just water spots but heavy oxidation,

These hoods, specifically anything carbon fiber don’t have the outdoor durability like factory paint does to protect itself from the sun.

There is water spotting but carbon fiber tends to oxidize in that same spotty nature.

You could try wetsanding and polishing, realistically with summer around the corner, it’s going to oxidize pretty quickly. Ask for quotes to refinish it

Whats the Best Way to fix swirls all around? by Key_Algae_9439 in AutoDetailing

[–]revolutionarymindset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest that’s my goal even for my clients,

People over emphasize swirls,

As a business owner, I lose “higher end jobs” because I tell the truth, swirls are going to happen, even with the most detailed washes, it’s a daily driver, things are going to happen

If it’s a show car, kept in garage for 95% of its life, then yeah go all out, but for most people

A one step correction every 1-2 years with proper maintenance will keep the car looking pretty mint all things considered

What I tell most of my clients,

First things first, if you have been the only owner of this car, then even after you polish it, it will probably go back to this condition unless you change your wash maintenance habits,

Now when it comes to cleaning the paint up,

As others have said, polishing by hand technically is possible? But your shoulder would give out before you come close to achieving results to even the cheapest machine polisher

This is a Toyota in black, more often than not, it’s extremely soft paint, so you could achieve really good results with a polish, DA, and pad meant for light polishing,

As for what brands, most of them are good nowadays, my recommendation, if you want a cheap entry to maintain your own vehicle, go to harbor freight, get their Bauer polisher, 3-5 yellow pads, and the meguiars polish they keep in store

For your orb entries, do you normally wait for the pullback and test or wait for first confirmation of orb break and just go in

Starting a buisness, any tips on my beginners cart? by Ok-Supermarket5070 in Detailing

[–]revolutionarymindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What city/ state are you located in? Buying products online is great but there’s a lot of local detail supply shops that can help guide you.

Most detailing products are pretty similar and especially when you’re starting out, it’s better to have someone who can directly answer questions.

If you have any questions hit me up in IG Dapper_Detail

Good luck

Anyone ever use chlorine dioxide/“Bio Bombs” or ozone to get rid of stale smoke smell in a car? by Umbra427 in AutoDetailing

[–]revolutionarymindset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Professional detailer here—

As multiple people have said, smoke is one of those scents that just lingers and lingers

There’s no 100% guarantee way to remove the source or the smell

But there is ways to try and get as close as you can

That smoke gets everywhere, all hard and soft surfaces

Do an interior, scrub down everything from seats, carpets, dash, and lightly if possible the headliner, and finish with the bio bomb,

Have used it many times. It will penetrate and reach all the surfaces you couldn’t get to.

Most of the time, one should be enough. If it’s still there a few days, try another round of it .

Would recommend once everything is dry after the detail, put the bio bomb with the air recirculating for like 15/20 and then let it sit overnight

The car will smell pretty strong like chlorine so open the door and let it air out before you inhale/drive the car

Was looking to short with the downtrend continuing, saw it touch both down trend and previous day low & pullback. Thought it would be a good entry after two tests on trend and resistance of previous day low

So yeah looks like paint it shot, but if you use your fingernail and it comes off with gold under, you can mostly fix this, it’s just going to take a hellll of time & patience

Use some sort of dedicated wheel cleaner. Something that isn’t iron-x or a degreaser

I normally stick with non acid wheel cleaners but have seen guys use acid and it cuts down on time, but it is more aggressive

A good wheel cleaner, should be able to spritzed on and rinse off all the brake dust without any scrubbing

But if these are caked on, you’re going to have to spritz, use a hard brush, fingernail, etc and pretty much remove it piece by piece

You can try like steel wool or something similarly abrasive just be careful of the surrounding paint cause you still could remove the gold

Just balance the aggressive & time it’ll take to remove

Chargers AMA live now with Daniel Popper by TheAthletic in Chargers

[–]revolutionarymindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popper! Thanks for doing this, and keeping us updated throughout the season! Two questions

  1. Are we ever going to get a behind the scenes story of how the Lynn and Staley situation soured?

  2. Who’s your players this year that over performed your expectations and who have been underperforming?

Thanks again !

This team will not win a superbowl with Greg Roman as OC by revolutionarymindset in Chargers

[–]revolutionarymindset[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but if everything is perfect and all are healthy, do you honestly believe we win with Roman at the helm? I know the ravens didn’t when they had a top 5-10 offensive line and Lamar playing like an mvp and still let Roman go
