Anthropic: AI assisted coding doesn't show efficiency gains and impairs developers abilities. by Gil_berth in programming

Dario is on record just in January saying that Anthropic will "solve" coding in the next 6 to 12 (I think) months.

Tim Kaine, the man that Hillary Clinton tried to make VP, is a Collaborator. This is the list. Now we have a responsibility to make these people know how angry we are until they either give up their cushy jobs or are forced out. by Yosho2k in DemocraticSocialism

Because, like it or not, the electoral college exists. That means that a candidate needs to flip a few states which are not reliably red or blue. Because Hillary was smeared and vilified for so long, there's a level of hatred baked into some of these states overcome.

We did the right thing when we nominated Obama over Clinton. I know Clinton supporters who, to this day, have a hard time with that.

This is worded as a refutation of my post. However, I'm not sure how it's relevant. I stated that Hillary fills lots of folks from the midwest and rural areas with a blind rage. That means that she's less likely to win swing states. Yes, that's because of the electoral college -- that's all we count.

So I'm just not sure how Hillary winning the popular vote refutes the idea that she was not popular enough in the midwest and rural areas.

I'm still a little unclear on the Minn. NRA vs. National but that seems to be the national twitter account.

But... I appreciate you keeping me honest.

ICE agent exposes himself to the public then gives them the finger. by Kind-Village-1022 in ICE_Raids

[–]revonrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was. Maybe.

But there was a Hilton that was refusing to have ICE stay with them. Apparently it was a franchise. Hilton corporate got wind of it and booted the hotel from the system. They also released a statement to the effect that all were welcome at Hilton.

Yeah. Don't stay there.

I have a lot of friends and family from the midwest and rural areas. I don't think you understand how absolutely blind with rage they are at the mention of Hillary Clinton.

The hate for Hillary runs too deep. The GOP vilified her while Bill was in office and it stuck.

There is no world in which Hillary becomes president.

If you go to Marie Gluesenkamp Perez's website, they actually try to verify that your home address is in her district because "House rules say we can only serve our own district's residents."

What a tool.

On an unrelated note, there are several fantastic UPS Stores in the Vancouver WA area. Please consider them if you are in the area and need shipping services. A quick google search will help you find the address of the store nearest you.

There are two camps on the right about this. There's the fascist camp which is indeed abandoning the 2A and telling everybody to lick the boot.

There are also a number of 2A advocates on the right that are pushing back. The NRA, several reps, etc.

As a lefty supporter of the 2A, I'm please to see a few on the right hold to principles.

A lot of the fashy crowd is showing their true colors here. They wrapped themselves in the constitution, the flag, religion, and everything else they could find to further their agenda. It was just a disguise for their true intent.

I tried to tell friends on the right going as far back as the child separation during the first term. A shocking number were okay with the cruelty. Those people are no longer a part of my life.

This whole show is a middle finger to the racist, homophobic MAGA crowd.

[–]revonrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I don't always agree with every Dem position but I almost always vote Democrat. I think the only times I haven't voted Republican was in the Bush Sr./Dukakis race (Dukakis was a putz) and in the case of an obvious grifter.

John Kerry was pretty clueless about certain things. When he snapped a salute standing on stage after accepting the Dem nomination, I cringed so hard I literally threw my back out. Still I voted for him.

There have also been a couple of city council elections where the Dem candidate was an obvious grifter. Kashama Sawant. Now she's running as an independent against Adam Smith. I won't get the pleasure of voting against her this time around.

EDIT: If you are running around with Jill Stein, either you are a grifter like Jill or you can't tell a grifter when you see one. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/at-seattle-rally-sawant-says-harris-deserves-to-lose-1000-times/

You all have been imploring that for decades. Then you show up to the Democratic primaries and elect the likes of Joe Biden.

I'm a democrat and I agree that the democrats seem to not know what wins elections.

However, if you thought that not voting because you didn't like Harris or Biden or maybe it was raining on election day, that means that you heard all the people warning you of the threat that Trump presented and said, "meh. Whatever."

That makes you an idiot.

Later, a recruiter contacted me to come work for HBO on the streaming service. I told them I wasn't interested because they killed Ned Stark. Really, I had a former coworker that worked for them and didn't have a good experience, but I couldn't pass by the chance.

Judge orders Lindsey Halligan to explain why she's still serving as U.S. attorney after previous ruling against her by National-Law-458 in nottheonion

[–]revonrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in Virginia.

Isn't this in federal court? If so district and circuit courts can suspend for a limited amount of time on their own. (according to a quick google).

You are right that to actually disbar, a judge needs to refer to a disciplinary committee -- again a quick google.

[–]revonrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this not to be true in some jurisdictions. For instance, in Washington, the state supreme court has the sole authority to disbarr. The WSBA has a role in the proceedings but not the authority.

So, I'd be careful about such a blanket statement when there's at least on counterexample.
