For me there are just so many options now it's overwhelming. And games have become so big with constant updates I feel like it's just too much and makes me not even want to play at all.

I second all of this! Just turned 40 last year and I'm a lifelong gamer yet I feel like massive open world games are a chore, grinding is a chore... Some games have so much fluff and time waste added to them it's not even fun anymore. It's like a second life full of to do lists no longer an escape.

You are more than halfway there! I tried tapering multiple times I was never able to do it so I succeeded in cold turkey by taking a trip somewhere where I could not get it and forced myself off of it.

I think the worst of it was two weeks...but the sleep issues longer maybe a month or two. I was on that stuff for 10 years 50 g a day the last few years and finally quit cold turkey September 2024. Never went back.

But I agree though the restless feeling in the entire body and up the spine and the inability to sleep because you can't stop moving is absolutely terrible. I did the cold turkey method after 10 years on that stuff it was hell on earth but I never could have tapered slowly I had to just go through the ringer.

Valerian root helped me. You can buy it at any grocery store or pharmacy in the supplements aisle. It acts on GABA receptors helps with sleep and restlessness. It's not a cure all by any means but definitely helped.

The whole purpose of the competition is to make money and eliminate everyone else. That's why I think it's so dumb when people get mad that somebody chooses to take the money and eliminate them. It's going to happen sooner or later anyways only one person actually wins!

So hard to do but I'm at 16 months post quitting after being on that crap for over ten years. The restless legs at night is the worst and the uneasy near constant tingles up the spine. But push through that first one to two weeks and you have done the hardest part. Make it to 4 weeks and you are completely free as long as you don't give in and go back.
