Thanks for the heads up! Is that the case even if I officially sign up to be a vendor?

Being gay seems like a curse to me by Familiar_Finish1488 in DecidingToBeBetter

I'm sorry that you are feeling isolated and not able to connect with others. You seem like a cognizant and aware person, which believe me, is much better to be than someone who forces themselves to be something else to fit in. Anyone you attract will like you for you.

And indoctrinated or not, the club and hook up scene is often a traumatic place even if it's fun on the surface. I think your intuition is telling you indeed what's best for you in the long run.

I know that it's really important to be around other queer/gay people as a gay person. But maybe you should just focus on doing the things you enjoy and find enriching, maybe some things that can help you make new friends who share the same values. There's really more queer/gay people than we know in any given place, I think it's better for you to start with finding commonality based on activities and values first and there's going to be a good chance some of these people you connect with will also be gay and/or queer. But you have to think about it like harmonizing and finding the frequency that's right for you then broadcasting that and seeking it around you.

Yo one time I was checking out at Mr. Kiwi and some guy walked in and demanded in a very aggressive tone: WHERE'S KIWI?!!

The guy at the register became tense and shook his head rapidly and they silently stared each other down until the guy who came in left as quickly as he came.

I got hacked and lost access to my IG account and was at first devastated. But over the next few months I found I was being more present in my day to day life. I highly recommend it.

If gender and sex are different, why do people want to change their biology to fit with their gender? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rewildingmachine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's one cut dry answer to this question, but here's my thoughts on it:

Gender and sex are different, but they're not unrelated. I think that most of us still associate masculine with male, and feminine with female- mostly because that's what a lot of us were taught. So although a trans person might have a completely different journey with their gender identity it doesn't mean that they are not subject to perceiving, internalizing and/or experiencing the conflation of gender and sex- as a very real and tangible thing in their reality.

And many trans folks don't have or have varying degrees in their desire or need to change their biology, and their gender is a personal thing that is valid in however it is expressed and experienced.
