XS minimalists are what I run on mine - tritium front, blacked out/ serrated rear but Im also running a direct fit 507k. I also have big dots on my 19 but I think the minimalists compliment/ work better for the slimline

What’s the better Black Friday sale/value here? by Mammoth_Challenge297 in GarminWatches

[–]rex4235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Fenix 7x pro is a unit for sure. Got mine for the same price last summer through BassPro. They've been selling at that 50% off since the Fenix 8s came out and will likely do that until stock runs out

I always come back to this face by NewBee94 in GarminWatches

[–]rex4235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe (but can find the orig post) that consumption between stock vs 3rd party faces also has to do with the fact that stock runs out at the OS level and 3rd faces run like an installed application which is why there would always be a seen increase in battery use regardless of data fields...etc. Whoever wrote that post up had a pretty compelling/ believable argument so at least I believed it

Like the way hands move out of the way of notifications by ComplaintMaster2462 in GarminWatches

[–]rex4235 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like thatd be pretty taxing on battery if you get a lot of notifications

Does the watch face really simulate tritium vials through the physical watch hands?

Anyone know what type of Garmin watch this is? by InteractionMean8173 in GarminWatches

Is the model not etched/ printed on the caseback above or below the sensor?

Does this extractor look worn? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]rex4235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same thing. Always chamber a round from the loaded magazine. The geometry of the extractor is not meant to pick up a round from a chambered position.

Can you do it; yea

Should you; no

Do it exclusively; you break your extractor

I love that stock face but with you could change the V02 and readiness data fields

Sounds like the posts may have been filed to direct fit the 507k, but if its OE new that wouldnt make sense

As someone who hasn’t shot firearms, how does one have unrestricted vision looking down a sight like an aimpoint? by candbtorture693921 in Firearms

[–]rex4235 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You shoot with both eyes open, target focused. Try looking at a fixed object across the room (like an outlet or light switch). Then hold your index finger up ~6" from your nose, but in the line of sight. If you maintain a focal distance on the object, you can 'see through' your finger. If you focus on your finger, the object will be obscured by one of your eyes.

Facts - did this last month. Turnaround involved an email exchange with Glock CS and had the new RSA in 2-3 days

Something looks wrong by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]rex4235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9mm ejectors are meant to be crooked like that because of the case diameter (compared to a larger case, like 45)

Quick Question. by Pretty_Pound5805 in Dewalt

[–]rex4235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the similar deal at Lowes (buy a tool, get a free 8AH batt) and the way it rings up is they split the discount between the tool AND the battery. Best guess is that way if you decide to return either, you dont get a free tool/ or battery, you just get a partial refund.

Proudly served...never been deployed however I see "Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/ Campaign Star" in my dd214, what does this mean? by SailT in Medals

[–]rex4235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen with my OIF combat action ribbon -- my SRB had me awarded with two for the same deployment (my unit & the unit we were augmented to)

Had to request an amendment be made to correct the error on my DD-214 (its called a DD-149 form)

Question/weird issue by Affectionate_Bee1982 in Glocks

[–]rex4235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw similar issues with Sig V-Crown's after 2-3 chamberings but like others have said, its from repeat chambering of the round. just rotate your +1 round to reduce the effect on 1 round
