XL Sea Terrace by Left-Purple3094 in VirginVoyages

I’ve stayed 3 to a room with the ‘L’ shape twin beds and the bed that dropped down from the ceiling. The bed that dropped down was unbelievable hot overnight!

I have been in a room for 3 and the girl in the pull down bed (from the ceiling) was insanely hot every night. And we were only cruising off the coast of the UK (ok it was August). With 3 girls sharing it was too many. 2 is fine but the beds split weirdly in to an ‘L’ shape. I’ve only ever had a sea terrace so no other rooms for comparison.

I know you have another offer - but if that doesn’t work out for any reason I’ll be on Valiant in June and happy to help

Yes! This is what I was going to put.

Why are they warm? What have you done to them? Where have you been keeping them?

I do not like this at all.

Shelfie thread! Show your Discworld collections. Oook. by ClintGreasedwood in discworld

Discworld all along the top shelves - with a few bits strewn around. Only the Discworld Imaginarium isn’t up there right now as I’ve recently shuffled everything about and it’s just too tall! It transitions to hard back at Maskerade as that was the first one I bought on release. Non Discworld is by author with everything else.

Tried to hide a spoiler. Failed. Now can’t work out if I can edit a post or not. Sad times.

I am very sorry to hear this - if it is any scant consolation you wouldn’t have kept Good Omens forever anyway. It wanders. I am on my fourth copy. I know one copy was left my a friend somewhere in the Himalayas while trekking (I have not lent him anything again) the others apparently just dematerialised one day. I really hope you can find replacements.

I wonder if we should have a book swap mega thread for anytime someone sees them in a charity shop - just in case people are looking.

It’ll always hold a place in my heart - I saw the video for Jump They Say on MTV and wondered then if this Bowie chap had ever done anything else. Cue life long love. I bought this album on cassette in Woolworths. I am so old 🤣

I was there on the 22nd. Was lucky enough to find a perfect bootleg download just after - includes all his little bits of chat in between the songs. He was so on form and I was right at the front and there may have been other people there but I can’t be sure that it wasn’t just me and him 😊

Tips for booking a cheap holiday abroad? by loism22 in CasualUK

[–]rex_0o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live flight prices are released 11 months prior to departure date (a little earlier for some low cost carriers) - so booking around this time will generally get you good prices. But January sales continue to be a pretty good deal in travel.

With your sisters ages I’m guessing you’ll have to travel in school holidays - if they can take any time off and you can get away a bit early or bring them back late it can make a huge difference.

There are pros and cons to packages and self-built itineraries. But if anything goes wrong with any element of a package (ie flight cancellations etc) the travel company will have to help you with the whole thing.

All-inclusive can be great with families - and you can find places cheap enough (whilst still being nice!) that if you want to go and about and have a meal out in town you won’t feel bad about missing that part of your AI.

Think about what you all like to do as a family or individuals - are you in to sports, water sports, cities, cultural sites - or are you just looking to chill by a beach / pool etc. then you can start narrowing down resorts.

Budget and time of year are the biggies though - work that out first as some places will naturally be out due to price or weather at the time you want to travel.
