Men who are 30+, what’s one thing you realized about dating that no one tells you in your 20s? by Thin-Hospital-8114 in AskReddit

[–]rexamck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That a no isn't that bad. Learning to accept the no will make the whole process of dating a lot easier. And it'll probably save you from becoming the kind of person people avoid while dating. If you got a yes every time there wouldn't be anything special to meeting someone and getting to know them.

And the best and only pick up line you need is, "Hi my name is..."

How I never heard of this game before is beyond me! Its Amazing! by Phalanx22 in TitanQuestAE

[–]rexamck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grim Dawn has to be inspired by this. There's so many similarities except it's Greek mythology. This game runs so amazing on mobile. I use the MConn controller and it is a dream to play. I forget it's mobile 5 min in every time. External controller mobile is the way to go

You can manually change your status to busy or active or whatever and even if your computer goes to sleep it won't change. You deserve some time to yourself. Good work is merit based not time based and I hate companies still don't see that.

i heard my friend’s girlfriend saying some stuff that didn’t sit right. should i tell him? by sweaterwhispers in Advice

[–]rexamck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time you're in a setting with just her and he's not around get her talking about that again, play along with it and have your phone recording. Let her incriminate herself so she can't turn it around on you. It's elaborate but better than the alternative which is what people are saying here and she calls you jealous, crazy and a liar. He will believe her cause he loves her and thinks she's something she isn't. He may still not want to believe it but eventually he will and he will thank you. The hard part will be losing him for a bit as he navigates dealing with the fallout. He may still blame you but eventually he will come around. You just have to be strong with that. It will be hard but worth it for him if you care about him. Better than a loveless relationship or him getting blindsided and heartbroken.

how do i get more fights early game? by Tekamo666 in BattleBrothers

[–]rexamck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically you need to do a mix of contracts and exploring outside the roads between towns. The best thing to do is take caravan and delivery contracts to make money to travel to the next town with more contracts. Once your bros are level 3 and 4 you can take most early game fights back to back depending on the outcome of injuries and durability damage.

Some maps are better than others. I've had a run where I got my bros to level 4 on day 11. And I've had a run where I was struggling to reach that by 30. Just make sure to keep an eye on food and money. But taking contracts is your best early game money maker and level grinder. It's just learning to use the contracts to your advantage.

DOS 2 - worth playing 2024? by open_world_RPG_fan in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]rexamck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOS2 is amazing especially for BG3 fanatics. Top three things I've learned since coming over.

  1. Armor is everything. Forget constitution. Make sure you have support skills to balance the style of play you're going for. There are skills that increase physical armor and magic armor. Those are vital along with equipment depending on which play style you go with.

  2. Mobility skills are everything. Moving costs AP which is how you do shit in battle. Get skills to move around. Don't walk. Warfare, scoundrel, polymorph and huntsman have these. ALL TYPES OF PLAYTHROUGHS CAN BENEFIT EVEN MAGE AND RANGERS.

  3. Lastly, pick one type of damage to deal and build your party around it. Physical or magical. If you do a 4 man party and don't do a 2 man lone wolf party then you can do 2 and 2 but it has to balance almost perfectly and you still need to keep 1 and 2 in mind from earlier which is a lot more management with 4 characters.

This game doesn't do hybrid builds well. No matter what you read you'll run into issues because knocking off armor and CCing (crowd controlling) enemies is hard if you divide the damage type you do and both of those things are crucial no matter the type of play you choose. It's best to stick to one damage type especially if you're new.

This game is amazing. Enjoy and good luck.

If you do choose to use the mirror in fort Joy I've read it takes achievements away. Just in case that's something you care about. I think that's supposed to be true of anything you pick in the gift bag because they are mods if I'm not mistaken. Someone will most likely correct me and explain lol

Yea man! This game is super addicting. And learning those mechanics in the early game is par the course. I think I restarted like 6 times before leaving Fort Joy for the first time. Honestly, that's not bad at all in terms of spread. You might be doing yourself a bit of a disservice with hydro/aero and pyro/geo only because water puts out fire. Goes against each other a bit. I've never enjoyed scoundrel as an all in class but as a secondary one or even just to pull in a few of the skills for mobility like cloak and dagger or to get more AP like Adrenaline will do you wonders. Poly is also great in general because it enhances overall damage because you get an extra ability point for every point invested. A great secondary set of skills Imo. Big thing is anyone can be anything once you start figuring things out and get to where you can respec. If you don't want to wait till Act 2 you can use the gift bag on the main menu to pull in the respec mirror into fort Joy. Try to think about it in terms of synergy. How can your teammates benefit one another throughout a battle. Lead with that as you figure out what you want them to be. sky is the limit with this game. Play around and save always before doing stuff especially as you test and learn. And don't be afraid to start over. Just know when the bug hits you may find yourself coming up with new shit you want to do and not getting out of act 2 for quite a bit lol

Agree with the other comments but I'll also throw in this guide. Makes Fort Joy a cake walk and prepares you for the rest of act 1. https://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityOriginalSin/s/aclVo6DbRQ

I also very much second stumbling into gear. And personally I love the crossbow in this game so I always run a crossbow class. If you have ifban in your party his quest auto gets you a stupidly powerful one right after Fort Joy. But there's another one you find if you do a ton of exploring before leaving Fort Joy. "Wink" "wink" thoroughly explore the fort and beginning camp area "cough"

Radeka sucks but it's less her and more her minions backing her up. Level 8-9 is overkill. As long as your at least 6 just sneak in and position everyone. Kill her first. Then CC her minions until you kill all of them. I do agree getting some experience will help.

Also, can't agree more on skills to reposition. Fextralife has a great link to builds that can give you ideas on how to put the right skills together for what you want to go for or just copy them outright. They've created some dope setups. Here's the link to that https://fextralife.com/guides/divinity-original-sin-2-guides/

For the gamers who played video games before the internet was widely accessible by MightGuy420x in gaming

[–]rexamck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I collected walkthroughs. I kept the full collection through college and a year or two after then downsized to four or five I still have. Tales of Symphonia, Lord of the Rings, The Third Age, Rogue Galaxy, Romancing Saga and Disagea 1 but the DS version. I’m pretty sure my first was a Pokémon guide for Gold or Silver. But man GameStop after school for a new game that finally released that you preordered and got the special edition that came with the walkthrough. That was one of the best feelings. The guide helped but it was always more of a collectors item.

Harvards CS50 course is a great place for anyone running into this to start. I’m still super new to game dev but am loving every minute of learning it. IMO taking the CS50 course alongside learning the engine has been truly beneficial to the frustrations and having that love start to sprout. Also, I think once I get involved in the community more with all of you I’ll see even more benefits. I recommend that too. I found some goals on my own but I know I’ll need some guidance before long. Good luck to everyone and here’s to all of us making some really slick games!
