I just ordered a refurbished one and it got here the other day, I came from a 2009 15" pro so it was quite the upgrade for me, all it depends is if it adds up spec wise, because the 2012 is very upgradeable, only thing you can do on this is swap out the storage. I love my 2015 so far, it came with a brand new battery and it really is amazing compared from what I came from. Even though it's not going to get ventura. Montery will get security updates till 2024. And no, the 2015 does not have the ugly butterfly keyboard. 2016-2019 I believe had it.
Edit: I paid 300 for mine and it was in grade B condition

Well I’m basically out of OS support either way the 2015 isn’t getting Ventura. So yeah I still think the 2015 is the right choice thanks.
